Why would the Packers trade Rodgers now?

The NFC is wide open.

Blowing it up now doesn’t make sense.

Especially going into his later years. They won't get there $$ worth unless of course Pat is his QB.:D

If I'm Rodgers, I would definitely stay in the NFC. Honestly, GB is about as good as most other landing places. I could see Carolina. TB and NO will be in rebuild mode. Some good weapons. Rhule isn't great but there's a lot to like.

Just 10 years ago the highest paid WR was Larry Fitzgerald at 13.25/year.

30? JFC

Can't imagine Rogers tarnishing his legacy (even more than he already has) by failing in another city. I think he stays in GB.

Let’s see:

Tom Brady gone
Russell Wilson’s team sucks, would only trade to AFC team
Sean Payton gone
Vikings and Bears starting over again
Lions still suck
Kyler is not ready to be a playoff QB

His only real competition would be the Rams. That’s it.

The only question is won't they have to do some kind of blow up? They clearly can't field a team as good as this past year's Packers team with their cap issues.

And the offense is nothing without Davante. They could get under the cap and maybe replace all the dudes they lost with suitable replacements, but they still need to pay Davante.

If I'm Rodgers, I try to find a turnkey NFC franchise with better personnel than what the Packers will end up with. After that, I might consider a non-West AFC team like the Steelers or Colts (if they can make the cap work on their end). Then my next best option is probably sticking with Green Bay.

Denver and the AFC West is the least desirable. However, if I'm Aaron Rodgers, I lack a lot of self-awareness and am way too overconfident, so it's probably still a good bet that he goes there in the end, gets the team to gut their draft picks, and then comes up short in the crowded AFC.

What an astonishing stat. Yikes.
