Thornhill is not starter quality at NFL safety. You can pretend all you like but he's not.

When Gabe Davis runs by him like a traffic cone in the playoffs it was not his physical abilities that were a problem.

This is just a bad take.

Good idea. Let’s create another hole at corner.

Let’s play a game. Which secondary do you think is better?

Thornhill-Reid-Sneed-Fenton

or

Sneed-Reid-Fenton-Baker

Because until we can actually acquire any corner of merit, that’s basically your depth chart.

I think you’re going to have to get used to Thornhill.

I get why people wish Thornhill was good.

Turn on that Buffalo game after badger left. We had no NFL safeties playing.

Buffalo once they realized we could not disguise our coverages were laughing at us.

Thornhill is better than Sorenson at coverage. That's not a very high bar.

Somebody should let the Bills know that their TWO pro bowl safeties aren't NFL caliber...

Well, this is a Justin Reid thread and I don't want to turn this into a Thornhill thread so I'll bow out of further discussion here.

We all agree we got a very good NFL safety in Reid. We can debate other needs in the other draft/FA threads.

I think Thornhill is probably a pretty average NFL safety with upside given his history and age.

I think corner is clearly a premium position versus safety.

You're the guy who is recommending that we take a valuable corner asset and turn him into a safety to create a potentially elite defender while immediately reducing his overall value. Brilliant idea.

If you want to criticize Veach's plan, you can point to the fact that this is a good draft for safeties and perhaps that's where we should've focused. But the idea Thornhill is a big enough problem that you need to create a larger hole at corner is just silly.

Stop being silly.

Juan Thornhill was playing at a high level prior to the injury. Anybody that says otherwise is lying.

I’m don’t think Thornhill is all that great but a few of those wide open TDs were on Mike Hughes not Thornhill.

Where did I criticize Veach? Now you're making stuff up. I've done nothing but praise the Reid signing.

Oh we're all on pins and needles.

Uhm, by basically saying Thornhill is so incapable of playing the position that we need to move Sneed over, you are absolutely cricizing Veach.

Stop being an idiot.

Thornhill had a 70.2 grade on PFF for 2021.

I know it’s PFF, but it’s pretty hard to be inadequate and get a high grade playing that many snaps. Almost impossible.

He’s above average with a chance to be really good this year in a contract year.

Why would a Texans fan remember anything from this game? lol

Don't know if this has already been posted but it's a pretty good read overall...

Stop being an idiot.

Every NFL GM will miss on picks. The idea that Veach can miss on a draft pick isn't a criticism, unless you're living in a fan fantasy land.
