The odd thing is that $1 million would have about 97% of the impact on my life that $1 billion would.

When the jackpot gets so big, I really think they should have a method to split it among multiple winners to maximize happiness. But I understand why they don't. More people buy when the maximum prize is larger.

When I moved here in 1998 there was nothing available . I had to actually buy a house just to move and it's never changed.

Now I have 17 houses.

When I win this lotto I'll own the whole damn town and rents are going to skyrocket. It's all in my plan.

I think small apartment buildings would be good with say 20-25 spaces but they can be a headache , especially if they are two story. When you get a broken water line on the 2nd floor it floods the first floor and it always happens in the middle of the night. I took a part time job for awhile last year doing maintenance for an apartment complex and it was as bad as having Hog Farm. People tearing shit up.

That is black rock and other corporations plan. Certain areas are passing codes that single family houses can't be built. If you buy up all available starter homes, turn them to rent and only allow multi units. You can control the markets and double the rent in a few years. People won't be able to save for a house and become reliant on you.

Well, looking at extended family, I have one nephew that is a disaster all self-imposed, and other nephews and nieces who have worked their asses off to get where they are... I don't want to award the lazy loser....

You can do whatever you want with your money, booboo. But that could be creating a interesting family dynamic beyond your relationship with the nephew. It's not like we are talking about the 2nd, 3rd, 5th cousin you haven't seen in 2 decades here I am going to assume. This is one of your brother's or sister's children. How do you reconcile with your sibling that one of their children will still be in the economic shit pile they are in, as they presently sit in a shit pile. But the others you like more will receive the opportunities wealth can create, while already being better off as it is now? But again, you can do whatever you want with your money.

Why not make it an incentive to the family member struggling to get themselves help. With the stipulations the money will come later after the self care and self improvements have been made?

You don't have to be such a hard ass your whole life, Francis. People make mistakes. Some more than others, some make the same mistakes over and over. But that's okay. Life is journey, a marathon. There will be stumbles a long the way for all of us. Being humble and having a little humility is damn hard in the face of our natural prejudices. But I know damn well if you were a family member of mine. You wouldn't be left out in the proverbial cold over a few of life's issues that could face any one of us.

I was really looking forward to how many cousins/family members I've never met and how many good, lifelong friends I've had since the first grade that I had completely forgotten about for decades that would have popped out of the woodwork had I won.

I didn't win the lottery but I made some good friends standing in line to buy a ticket!

In some states, a special offer called Just the Jackpot is available. Jackpot players will love this exciting new wager type that allows them to play specifically for the jackpot only. At a price of $3, the player will receive two plays for the jackpot only. Just the Jackpot tickets are not eligible for any other prize levels. To see if the lottery in your jurisdiction offers this option, visit that lottery’s website (you can find links on our “Where to Play” page)
https://www.megamillions.com/How-to-Play.aspx

For this particular Jackpot...If you played that kind of ticket....Lived in a state with no income tax(you just have to pay the federal rate of 37%)......and assumed there would be 1.66 winners....every $3 ticket you buy is worth $1.86.

If you assume only one winning ticket will be sold, Every $3 ticket you buy is worth $3.11

This also assumes you take the cash value option.

Right now the jackpot is $20 million with a cash out of $11.6. Every $3 ticket you buy is worth about nickle(assuming such a small jackpot will only have one winner).

Hog's Gone Fishin 07-30-2022 01:20 PM

Pffft.... 20 mil..... hardly worth the effort now

In Florida you can keep your identity as the winner from going public.

If I had won, I would have had a huge ethical challenge. I would want to buy an entire section of Arrowhead for myself just to be comfortable, but that would reduce the crowd noise. Should I not do it?

You would fit in with the wine and cheese crowd. Suite would be a better option for you. Maybe you and Brit would become besties

Yeah most if they are worth $300 million. Get a suite. 50 yard line. No brainer.

But..as a John Doe season ticket holder I had many chances to upgrade to club level. Never thought it was better. Don’t think I would either as a multi millionaire. I like watching the games with long time fans. Those are my people even if I have millions to spend.
