If Veach thought this Brown would've been signed last offseason. Veach has a contingency plan for the LT position.

OBJ wants to be paid like a HOFer, and he isn't that good.

Correct me if I am wrong. The tag will cost 26-27 million next year.

No. It's 120% of 16,662,000. 19,994,400. That's the number. Unless the tag number for OL is even higher than that, which it won't be.

The only good thing that can come out of him being tagged-
He busts his ass next season to improve his value. Im sorry but he has looked lazy and mostly lost to me.

If we tag him then we need to draft his replacement for 2024.

The Chiefs are projected to get 2-3 more day 3 comp picks from last year's free agents. They haven't been finalized/announced.

I believed they are projected to have as many as 12 total, maybe only 11 though.

Hey, that would be great but I don't see how the players we lost versus the players we gained and that whole secret algorithm works.
If we do it will not be more than a 7th or 6th.

No one is talking about letting him walk. I think most everyone who is against signing this dude to a 24m (or whatever) deal wants us to tag him, trade him and use that currency to move to grab a legit prospect who fits our offense.

Point is, there's nothing that says Veach is prepared to make this guy the highest paid LT in the league. He tagged him....he can now be easily traded.

O.city 02-19-2023 04:45 PM

They were never gonna let a LT just walk. There’s no way he plays on the tag this year

He will sign or get traded

Veach clearly needs you to hold his hand through this offseason.

Lmao at folks panicking.

It’s $23 million average. A 5 or 6 year deal will have that start around $15 million and slowly build to where $23 million won’t look bad.

And like I said $23 million is CHEAP compared to the $30-34 million price tag elite non QB’s like Aaron Donald are getting

Is that really where we want to be?

Vs keeping a fungible, oft-injured possession WR in JuJu and rolling the dice at LT?

Yeah, I'm fine with that.

We can't be out there with MVS Skyy Moore and Toney as the top 3.

We also cannot rely on Toney to stay healthy. He’s great on a cheap deal when we have other options. But he can’t be relied upon until he proves otherwise.

I think we can get Watson back on another cheap deal. Then we draft one early, and maybe late too. We might also find a cheap-ish one year vet looking for a ring.

The FA WR group is pretty bad, so JuJu may get bigger money than he deserves.

Supposedly the Saints are gonna cut Michael Thomas...not sure how everyone feels about that.

It just comes down as to which type of a tag the Chiefs will choose.

Franchise Tag:

Exclusive Tag - Gives the team exclusive negotiating rights. Should the player reject the offer, they are unable to sign with another NFL team for that entire season.

Non-Exclusive - Allow players to negotiate with other teams. If they receive an offer, their current team has the opportunity to match. If current team opt not to match the offer, they’re entitled to receive two first-round draft picks in exchange.

If that's correct, Non-Exclusive sounds pretty awesome.

put him on the JuJu plan and nothing more

Bump 02-19-2023 05:33 PM

I hope we keep him, he played big in the biggest game and that's what you want. We have the best GM and I trust whatever he does will be the best move for the Chiefs.
