LMAO Belicheck? Yeah, I'd tone it back a bit. You're not even being subtle at this point.

Sassy Squatch 09-28-2023 04:28 AM

Honesty he's done a poor enough job in recent years I'd be pretty reluctant if he was openly wanting the Chiefs job and Reid spontaneously retired. Patricia/Judge as co OCs? What the actual ****, man...

Not Belichick the coach. The ****ing GM.

And Baalke? LMAO

Jerry Jones? LMAO

John Lynch? LMAO

This is absolutely ****ing priceless. Thanks for that.

In regards to Belichick, the proof is in the pudding. He won 6 Super Bowls in 20 years as GM of the Patriots. You can say it has more to do with Tom Brady and Belichick’s coaching knowledge, sure. If you say that, I’ll say we have the better QB in Patrick Mahomes and the only HC who can hope to rival BB in AR.

Baalke has built a really solid roster in Jacksonville. It’s just Jacksonville so he doesn’t get much recognition.

Jerry Jones is a meme but he’s built a badass roster in Dallas over the years. They’ve consistently had talented teams since the mid-2000s.

Lynch has built a super duper badass roster in SF. They’ve been to three of the last four NFCCGs.

The same Lynch that literally passed on Patrick ****ing Mahomes for Solomon Thomas? You think he'd have done as good of a job as the guy who literally pounded the table for Pat to be drafted?

How many Super Bowls have the Niners won under Lynch's leadership?

FFS, man, have some pride. This is pathetic.

Yes. Despite that massive goof, he’s built a loaded roster. Purely based on talent, it’s probably a top 3 team in the league. They’ve been to three out of the last four NFCCGs.

He also appears to have found a franchise QB in the 7th round, which is just as impressive a feat as trading three 1sts for Lance is a gaffe.

I’m not joking. I’m not convinced Belichick is a great GM, but BelichickGM has built two different dynasties with the help of a GOAT QB and BelichickHC.

It’s important to note that Dorsey resigned in summer of 2017 so in this hypothetical scenario, we still have Reid and Mahomes. Hell, we even have Kelce, Hill and Jones at that point.

Think about that for a second and tell me you don’t think we swap out Veach for any of these guys listed and possibly have similar success.. Obviously we will never know but these dudes have done great work without a generational talent at QB and top 5 all-time HC. In this instance, we’re giving them both of those.

What’s going on in this thread guys

It's a shame that Nazareth Johnson got hurt bc he was gonna be a player from what he heard through all of camp.

Thats looking like a fantastic draft but the best draft was and will always be till time immortal is..... the one with Mahomes in it. :hmmm:

Sassy Squatch 09-28-2023 07:16 AM

LMAO You literally posted why Belicheck really ISN'T all that great. Right there in your own post.

"these dudes have done great work without a generational talent at QB and top 5 all-time HC."

No. Belicheck the GM has actually been quite bad in this scenario. 62-71 with one postseason appearance (a 17-47 blowout loss)

You don’t even have to read that far because I said it outright:

I was obviously talking about the other GMs at that point.

BelichickGM is different because, WHEN HE HAD A GOAT QB AND GOAT HC, he built two dynasties in two different decades. Or you can just call it one 20-year dynasty. Either way it is something that he accomplished as GM. I see no reason to presume he couldn’t do the same here with Reid-Mahomes and a little bit of luck.

Sassy Squatch 09-28-2023 07:31 AM

Why? His drafting is ****ing horrendous. We all give Veach shit for that absolutely awful 2018 draft class, and Belicheck pulled one off that was significantly WORSE. An outright bad T in Wynn, a COMPLETE bust in Michel, and a CB that never even saw the field for them in Dawson. That's just the first two rounds of wasted picks.

He hasn't even put together a class that can touch the very good levels of Veachs 2021 class, much less what appears to be an all timer in the 2022 class in the period we're talking about.

BECAUSE HE ALREADY DID IT. WTF, bro? Lol. What are you not getting about that?

They do what most OLines do.

I posted that Veach made three extraordinary moves, and two good-but-more-typical ones, to build the OL to the force it is today.

And you guys are wasting your time on the internet today complaining that I didn't say it in a way that more pleases you.

Just, whatever.

They were only able to read the first few sentences before forming an opinion, immediately got defensive, causing them to be unable to see you setting a baseline for GMs that you then go and say how Veach went above that.

The read the first sentence, not as a question setting up the post, but as a question of attack on Veach.

ThaVirus 09-28-2023 07:41 AM

The only way you can argue that he couldn’t possibly replicate this success we’ve had here is if you think the combo of Reid-Mahomes is inferior to the combo of BelichickHC-Brady.
