i don't necessarily think he avoided it, it was delayed until after he retired. The media was all too happy to grab onto the story of gambling and try and do the whole 'fall of michael jordan' type of tabloid junk.


I wonder if the shoes being so universal was kind of the bond that made even fans from other areas not hate on him during his run? I mean, I had jordans in the 90's... and I wasnt a bulls fan!
