Hell yeah on the Wacha signing and on the BWJ and Lugo winning the Gold Glove. Should be Witt's 2nd.
|
Pretty good day for the Royals and us fans! Congrats BWJ and Seth Lugo! Next up, we discover Juan Soto is a midwestern boy at heart and signs a deal with the Royals…

If Sasaki posts this year, he will be cheap in terms of salary. He will sign for international bonus pool money and get a minor league contract.

***Official 2024/2025 KC Royals Offseason Thread***
Romo Sasaki is getting posted. He’ll be posted as an international minor league free agent because he doesn’t have much service time in Japan. Which means he’s subject to the international signing pool limits like Ohtani was.
This is a guy worth blowing out the international pool and paying luxury tax and pick penalties for. Not connected to KC, but a guy can dream… |

There have been some. Shin Soo-Choo signed with Cleveland. Darvish started in Texas at a time the Rangers weren’t a great team. Kikuchi went to Toronto. But the high profile guys have always ended up on a coast, it seems. It sounds like Sasaki may want to go somewhere he is the most prominent Japanese player. Seattle and San Diego and Texas have been speculated as potential options. I think you’d have to get lucky with a pitch of being Witt’s counterpart for the whole rookie contract. I doubt that would hold any sway. But I hope he ends up somewhere that is not the Dodgers or Yankees. Seattle would be kind of cool. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I’ve read a little that suggest he does not want to play in Ohtani’s shadow. That would suggest not the Dodgers or Angels to me. Might even rule out the Giants, if he doesn’t want to play in the same division and have their teams face off that much. I kind of feel like Seattle is a dark horse. Ichiro obviously was huge there, it’s just as easy to get home from there, huge Japanese-American population there, good team. It would be a little unfair to add him to that team, considering the pitching they’ve already stacked up. |
