I'll Still Be Lovin You- Restless Heart Make My Life With You- Oak Ridge Boys (complete with wedding bells at the end) From This Moment On- Shania Twain & Bryan White I could make a longer list and will if you want but those songs always meant a lot to wedding partys I've played for. I'll post vids in case you don't know them. |
I'm not sure there's a better bride and groom song than this.

I'm interested to know what others think about this song. It's decidedly not country in it's rock sound... is in it's lyrics. As hard as it is it's moving up the country charts at a decent clip.
Brantley Gilbert "Kick It In The Sticks" <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ve8sNTqrzCw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Kid Rockish. Vocal distortion is shit.
Hey... you asked. :D |
Quote:

Oh and Lumpy I don't think it's vocal distortion he just sings that way. I believe he's been constipated for years probably. A good poop and he might sing opera.

I'm not saying this is my new favorite song of all time.......... but I'm not saying it's not.
The Oak Ridge Boys "Before I Die" from their latest album "It's Only Natural." Lead vocals by William Lee Golden (the long bearded one) It's just beautiful imo. I've been told I'm an old soul. I take that as a compliment. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9x5OzQvvtEM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Some guys like the story type country and this is a really good one in that genre.

Hadn't heard this one until the other day. I really like Cash's later songs. Full of soul.

Good Randy Rogers Band. Might be a good one for that dudes wedding. Good stuff.

One of the great under-rated songs imo. When I mobile dj'd back during this time it was always a good one for the wedding party if they didn't pick their own.

Miss Jimmy Ibbotson... lead singer. What a great song.
Way back in my memory there's a scene that I recall Of a little run-down cabin in the woods Where my daddy never promised that our blue moon would turn gold But he laid awake nights wishin' that it would. When the world was on our radio, hard work was on our minds. We lived our day-to-day in plain dirt fashion, With ol' overalls and cotton balls all strapped across your back Man, it's hard to make believe there ain't nothing wrong. But momma kept the Bible read and daddy kept our family fed, And somewhere in between I must have grown Cause someday I was dreamin' that a song that I was singin' Takes me down the road to where I want to go. Now I know, it's a long hard road Sometimes I remember when I stay up late at night, When the sun-up came, we got up and went In the shadows of a working' day, our moonlight hours spent Singin' songs along with grandma's radio. Now I'm beatin' down a ol' blacktop road, and sleepin' in a sack, Livin' up my memories all in vain 'cause those city lights ain't all that bright, compared to what it's like To see lightning bugs go dancin' in the rain. Momma played the guitar then, and daddy made the saw blade bend, And raindrops played the tin roof like a drum. But I just kept on dreamin' that a song that I was singin' Takes me down the road to where my name is known. Now I'm gone, and it's a long hard road Yes, I know, it's a long hard road. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/eBWTVWQ6mqk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

I haven't been thru all 862 posts but any Texas Country fans here? I like some "nashville" country but for the most part it's too poppy for my liking. Mostly listen to Stoney Larue, Kevin Fowler, Randy Rogers, Charlie Robison, Jason Boland and Casey Donahew now days.

Yes there is.
I've posted some Dirty River Boys, Jason Boland, Turnpike Troubadours and a new band I've found, Hellbound Glory. This is my current music of choice Quote:

I like the old country music from the 60s, 70s & 80s but a little bit goes a long way. But I never get tired of Willie. Willie Nelson has to be the greatest country artist ever. I don't think it's even close. |
