That last two minutes from Holland to Dysons backflip to Sungwoo was just pure sex.

Play him at 1B, bat him 6th.

Willingham can filter through RF and DH and be a great bench bat

When was the last time we had that luxury?

DeezNutz 08-11-2014 09:15 PM

Willingham isn't going to be coming off the bench. Full-time DH from here on out.

tyler360 08-11-2014 09:16 PM

As long as he hits for some power

Andy said Willingham and Ibanez are going to split time.

Condolences on Machado. Hope it's not another killer injury for him.

We have some roster flexibility now, I'm guessing they are going to mix and match everyone depending on the day's matchup. As long as Butler keeps hitting he'll be in there somewhere.

CaliforniaChief 08-11-2014 09:40 PM

Sorry I'm late to the thread. I thought I was headed to the ER because it was gonna last longer than 4 hours.

Unbelievable. Everything. We're beating good baseball teams, and doing it in style.

And the Tigers have the Ebola right now, so that works too.

Mama Hip Rockets 08-11-2014 09:40 PM

Is this real life?

penbrook 08-11-2014 09:40 PM

Yost even said once Hosmer gets back he will be at first and Butler will be DH. He said this last night so idk things could of changed with this move.

No, it's Memorex

Great Expectations 08-11-2014 09:54 PM

That was an awesome game, tons of energy all through the game.

FYI Chiefs Counrty, a lefty was "loosing" up while league save leading Holland was pitching tonight.

penbrook 08-11-2014 09:56 PM

Jarrod Dyson is one of the most unbelievable stories in sports. 50th round pick to where he is now just doesn't happen

With Willingham's OBP, his bat must play.

Just read an interesting stat. The Royals haven't trailed in a game since the 2nd inning Thursday at Arizona. That's 44 consecutive innings.

I saw that too, but I think that was twitter speculation before the game.

After the game, Yost said he's planning on using Willingham as his everyday DH.

I think that's fine, and appreciate the added flexibility at that point to give a guy a day off or adjust the lineup if someone is slumping. I mean we get to add 15 guys to the active roster on Sept 1, right? Who cares at that point, I'll take it.

Exactly right. Expect more of this as the season wears on. Going out to close is a tension filled task and Holland only has last year on which to draw from experience.

Chris Meck 08-12-2014 08:35 AM

Willingham can also play RF for you. It's a solid pickup. Aoki's playing well right now, but should he slump...you could have Hosmer, Butler, and Willingham all in the lineup for a spell.

WilliamTheIrish 08-12-2014 08:48 AM

Chris Meck... Long time, no see.

duncan_idaho 08-12-2014 09:25 AM

What a night, what a game!

Still having a hard time believing this is real life sometimes. Here's to them keeping it going.
