Gotta get to the WS so he will be in KC.

Are we really that worried about a guy who is 0fer in the postseason? Royals will get to Price early and feast on the "bullpen."

I'm not woried about his post-season success, or lack thereof. I'm worried about the guy that pitched the first six innings of shutout baseball in that game. I'm worried about the guy who is one of the best pitchers in baseball every single year. Game 6 is a tossup. Let's hope it goes the Royal's way.

This is why we played the whole year for homefield. These two games right here. People were flipping out when it looked like it was slipping away, now people are scared because we have to go home for games 6 & 7.

One difference is this game will not be played in the shadows for 6 innings.

While facing Price is no picnic, regular season and postseason combined, KC has gotten about 22 innings of Price this year and have scored 11 runs off of him(10 earned, I believe). Royals should feel good about their chances, especially if 2014 post season Yordano shows up

And, for the record, I am totally fine with the Mets having 5 days to sit around

If you had told me at the end of the season we'd be up 3-2 vs Toronto with games 6 & 7 at the K, I'd have signed up for it.

Game 7 scares me only because of Cueto.

Yes, and up until that inning, Volquez was also. The zone just shrunk all of a sudden IMO

I just checked the NWS website has the cold front coming in too late to help on Friday night as it won't come through until after midnight. It will be wet be winds will still be out of the south. If a game 7 is played however, winds will be out of the north to knock most dingers into outfielders' gloves.

Well at the least, Friday won't be any warmer than it was for games 1 and 2. Pretty sure the Jays were homerless in those games. Also, if my memory serves, we are 4-1 at the K this year against Toronto.

You guys won a championship twice in the 90's. The Royals and Mets each haven't had one since the 80's. So, if you don't mind good sir, could you please tell your Blue Jays to lose in KC?

Thanks in advance, it is appreciated.

Dunit35 10-21-2015 10:55 PM

I've been keeping an eye on LL tickets for Friday. Stuff is super high.

CaliforniaChief 10-22-2015 10:17 AM

Looking at the weather...everyone's talking about the chance of rain on Friday. Of bigger concern is a southeast wind in the 20's with gusts in the high 20's. That's blowing out, folks.

But then on Saturday, the wind shifts from the northwest (in) at 15 MPH.

It's been a long time since the early 90s. I think I'd very much like to see two wins instead.

game changed when the ump didn't ring up Bautista on that beautiful 3-2 hook by Volquez. That was a strike. But eh, shit happens. Shouldn't have let that pitch get away to Donaldson before that. Hats off to Estrada.

But Cueto "redeemed" himself already in Game 5 vs Houston right? That means his loss to Toronto the other day didn't matter, he'd already been redeemed. I mean if Price can wipe away an 0-7 record with 1 good start then Cueto's already there.

Who said anything about wipe away? I just hope he starts changing the narrative about himself with a good start and gets us to a game 7. That would be nice.

So that article just elaborated on my entire point. That pitch not being called a strike effectively ended the game

Hootie 10-22-2015 01:58 PM

though I'll give mad props to the way Edinson handled getting totally ****ed on that perfect 3-2 pitch to Bautista ... he didn't handle it like a Blue Jay, that's for sure. The ump was probably afraid to death of calling that perfect pitch a strike because Bautista would have ninja chucked his bat 3 miles ... the fans would have littered the field with garbage ... and Bautista would have bitched and moaned about it for the next 3 innings ...

Eddy just shook his head and moved on. Thank God.

The Jays probably would have won regardless, I believe it was only a 10% swing. There was some serious debate about whether it was a strike or not, though, the pitch was that close.

Hootie 10-22-2015 02:03 PM

I don't buy into that FG % bullshit. It's ****ing stupid.

The fact of the matter is ... as soon as he loaded up the bases with nobody out, the game was over. I know that as a baseball fan.

1st and 2nd with 1 out? No. Get out of that 1-0 and the Royals are still very much in the game.

You're not getting out of a bases loaded, nobody out jam very often.

That pitch should have been called a strike. Plain and simple. It was such a good pitch it fooled the umpire. Or the Royals were up 3-1 playing in Toronto so he gave the home team the benefit of the doubt / didn't want to put up with Baby Bautista and the white trash slumdog crowd of Toronto heaving shit on to the field for 30 minutes

Well if you actually read the article, you'd know it wasn't quite that plain and simple. Far from it, really.

Why so hostile? I do have to say that I love how nervous this supposed "paper team" is making you, though. LMAO

TomBarndtsTwin 10-22-2015 02:13 PM

No reason to be 'nervous' now. Back to the friendly confines of the Midwest.

(where you don't have to be worried about your infant child getting pelted with a beer bottle because of a bad call by an ump)

Perks of the Midwest in the good 'ol USA.

Hootie 10-22-2015 02:14 PM

the history of baseball has nothing to do with the present of this series

I watched Boston battle back down 3-0

I saw the Cubs choke away their chance at a WS up 3-1

I know a few things:

1) The Royals are going to be favored to lose game 6. Price > Ventura.

So I have a hard time believing the 75% figure people are throwing around. I give us a 65% chance to advance to the WS at this point.

I'd rather be on the 65 side opposed to the 35 side ... but the 3-2 with 2 in KC is irrelevant. It's two 1 game series for the Blue Jays. We're going to get their absolute best shot game 6 ... and any advantage we have in game 7 is strictly due to the fact that our bullpen >>>>> Toronto. But I'd imagine our kryptonite, Marco Estrada, will be the first Jay out of the pen game 7 if needed.
