Put some devil horns on it.

The interview was pretty good. I thought he did a solid job until he started crying at the end and trying to talk about his charity work and how much he loves his friend.

However, the most important part was his explanation of what he specifically meant with his words. And that part he completely whiffed on. He basically said he was referring to Brit Reid, and the fact that he's the only defensive coach that didn't get fired. That makes no sense. How is that an example of Reid trying to "fix" someone and it failing?

I really don't know all the history of Reid's kids. Don't really want to. But I know there were some criminal charges and drug stuff. I figured if Kietzman was going to explain this away it would be a reference to a still-living son who was still having trouble. If this is all he's got then it's beyond weak.

As the opoid crisis has shown us all, even good kids raised right by good parents and role models can still devolve into drug addiction. Some did everything right to help stop the spiral down. No idea if that happened with Andy and dont care. I just dont need this TMZ level shit in my life.

Question: How can you fire Kietzman if he owns the radio station?

He only owns a part of the station. The others in the ownership group buy him out and tell him to pound sand.

Essentially yes. And unless station sponsors start feeling pain of customers avoiding them and said sponsors start pulling ads and the station loses ad revenue nothing will happen to KK.

We can gnash our teeth and shake our fists but unless there's a hit in the station's ad revenue only two things will happen; jack & s**t.

Here's just a couple examples. He also was sued for trying to coerce his racing partner and his wife into group sex, makes his employees take RW indoctrination classes, and threatens managers with a 60% pay cut if their store unionizes.

Quote:

Managers are prohibited from building a home, even if they purchase the construction materials elsewhere. It’s a measure to prevent employee theft, John Menard once told the media. The penalty is termination.

Even minor building projects concerned him. On numerous occasions, former managers say, Menard hired private investigators to take photos when an employee added a deck or addition, then had internal examiners cross-reference the materials in the photos with items the employee had purchased, looking for products that had been stolen.

The most infamous casualty of this policy was Eldon Helget, a lumber yard manager for Menards’ Burnsville, Minn., store. Helget’s daughter was confined to a wheelchair and the narrow hallways in the Helget home made it difficult to get around. She was getting too big for her mother Linda to carry her up the stairs, and because the bathroom couldn’t accommodate her wheelchair, the girl had no privacy. When the Helgets could find no home that met their needs, they decided to build from scratch.

But Helget’s boss, Larry Menard, said there were no exceptions to the company rule. Helget, who had a stellar 13-year record with the company, could resign his post and take a lower-level job, Larry said. That meant a $15,000 cut in his $40,000 salary, but Helget still agreed.

The Helgets hired a contractor to build a ramp-equipped home, using building materials from another company. When John Menard heard about the deal, he fired Helget. The company notified Helget that if he ever showed up on its property again, he’d be arrested for trespassing.
https://www.milwaukeemag.com/bigmoney-john-menard/

Quote:

George Meyer, a former secretary of natural resources under Republican Gov. Tommy Thompson, said he had intense confrontations with Menard during the late 1990s over state environmental laws. In one instance, he said, state officials caught the billionaire store owner on videotape personally dumping arsenic-laden hazardous waste ashes from one of his lumber plants in a state landfill.

“I swear to God, he would have his employees bag up [the ashes] in plastic bags, and he would take them home and put them in his personal garbage,” said Meyer, who is now executive director of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation. “They were going to a regular landfill, not to a hazardous waste facility. We were trying to get the attorney general to file criminal charges. If it had been you or me, it would have happened, but it didn’t to John Menard.”

Instead, Menard and his company settled and agreed to pay the $1.7 million civil fine, then a record in Wisconsin. But during meetings he had with Menard, Meyer said, the hardware baron made no secret of his views on environmental enforcement. “He told me he just didn’t believe in environmental regulations,” said Meyer. “He was upfront about it.”

My only issue with going after sponsors is the mom and pop owned businesses.
Myself being a small business owner I might spend my whole advertising budget for the year on a certain platform (I dont but ) and I wouldn't have anywhere else to go.
It wouldn't mean I support that station and I'd pull my advertising asap....
Going after the corporations would make the impact.

Unfortunately, that's the way it is.

If you shopped at a store and you knew that between the hours of 2:00-6:00 that people were going to be treated like dog shit, how often would you frequent that place? Furthermore, you're going to think poorly of that entire business (and management) because of that one employee.

I have some mixed feelings about this. If KK is genuine in his apology, we should say "OK, the man has shown remorse at his comments and he manned up and apologized." But my cynical real world self can't help but feel this is nothing but spin doctoring and self preservation on KK's part. It's hard to buy that anything this man says is genuine, because he's a radio huckster. He's a shill. He told you that the cookie diet would help you lose weight and keep it off, for chrissakes! He will literally say ANYTHING with conviction that somebody pays him to say. So, when he gets up and sheds crocodile tears on TV, it's hard to buy that. My gut tells me he's not really remorseful for what he said, he's remorseful for the shit storm it stirred up, which put his station's ad revenue, and ergo, his job and future, at risk. He's sorry that he almost screwed up his kushy gig. That what I really think. Now, what'll WHB do? Nothing. They'll do nothing. Because the public has the attention span of an Irish Setter. So he'll either be back on the air tomorrow, or they let him cool off another week. But he'll be back, unless the damage is so severe they buy him out of his ownership stake. He wins either way. Sad.

You can try as hard as possible to separate the waitress from the kitchen, but if your steak comes out tough and well done, it just puts a pall on the entire experience and it's gonna be reflected in the tip even if you didn't mean it to be.

Not the waitresses fault, but you're just not as happy as you'd have been. You may still say "well it's not her fault, I'll give her 20%" but if you'd have had a homerun meal you'd be looking at 25+. It's just human nature.

They can try to distance themselves from KK all they want, but he's a stain on the station and has been for over a decade.

See, I've kinda downplayed the outrage from this particular incident because it doesn't really change my opinion or perspective on him. I've never cared for him and thought he was a high horse riding goober for a while.

So while i'd love to be able to flip on the 810 app and listen to them on the way home, frankly, there is so much other content out there at this point that I think radio is dying a slow death that I can't really care about him that much.

That's the crux of the biscuit here. If you believe he's genuine in his apology or not.

We both believe he is not. But others may believe he is. I also have real problems with his character issue. He cheated on his first wife with an intern -now his current wife. So his moralizing about Tyreek Hill or Andy Reid rings hollow to me. Judge not lest ye be judged, or something biblical like that... He should just leave the character judgements up to Goodell and the NFL, because it really doesn't matter what the rest of us think. The judgement is in the hands of the NFL now.

Honestly I quit listening to 810 at all when all the Reek stuff came out because of all the Virtue Signaling that was going on. I only listened to SSJ for th emost part and would catch a little KK on the way home when 810 went to commercial.

But apparently this morning SSJ and I guess Petro are pretty much distancing themselves from KK.

Another think KK did which was, imo, just as bad, was literally lying by saying things like "The DA says he broke his arm but can't prove it.."

He has consistently lied throughout this entire ordeal so throw all that in with this and yes, dude should be canned.

I think the real brunt of this "ordeal" happens when 810 has trouble speaking with players or getting anything than a uhhuh in interviews.
If this team is as close as being reported it could become an unwritten rule as long as KK is on the air we keep it to a minimum

Contractually do the Chiefs have to still do interviews and such with 810?

I was kind of thinking so. I'm guessing Clark could pull some strings if he really wanted to and get some things done.

Thanks Jeff Allen. I will always remember you and Donald Stephenson with the taint of being the guys we drafted instead of Russell Wilson but yeah thanks.

Being available and being a good interview for the sake of the station are two different things.
810 - "how was training camp today "?
Random player " fine"

610 for instance " how was training camp today?"
Random player " was really good, we worked on some fundamentals and new schemes. So and so really did a great job while we saw so and so needed to adjust a few things. We are making some real strides.....
You see what I mean.

I've occasionally heard SSJ talk to Kevin on hos show about reports and he always sounded awkward taking to him. I bet the border patrol guys don't care much for kk. Not sure of Petro. KK big mouth will hurt them in ratings. I'm wondering if he eventually gets ousted esp if the chiefs do the bare minimum with the station

The Chiefs should go with the Russell Westbrook approach if they are forced to give interviews to 810.

Next Question, Next Question, Next Question, Next Question.

I'm just here so I don't get fined.

I don't think we can possibly know enough to answer that question.

The teams have so much leverage over the radio stations there that I have to imagine they are ridiculously team friendly in their terms. If the Chiefs don't have a 'your drivetime jockey was a monumental ****' escape clause, I'd be stunned.

Will the stupid bundle of sticks be back on the radio today?
