One of the talking heads the other night, Mel Kiper or someone, said something about how he ran a 4.6 at the Combine, but that CEH said that he knew he wasn't going to run that well because he was still overcoming an injury. I was in the middle of a few things so I was just listening at the time, and I didn't hear what the injury was. But then I read somewhere that CEH ran a 4.5 or sub 4.5 sec 40 in HS, and why would he get slower in college? Not that I'm that concerned with his 40 time. It's his agility and instincts that jump off the screen at me. He's not Barry Sanders of course, but his instincts and lateral agility remind me in some ways of Barry.

I was looking through the channel yesterday and found the 2019 LSU - Oklahoma game and recorded it, thinking I would get a chance to watch him. Turns out CEH was nursing a hamstring in that game and had like three plays. So don't bother with that one.

Nice. So that's pretty respectable, IMO. I mean, 4.6 isn't slow, people. My brother ran 4.6 in HS, and if i gave him just a 5 yard headstart it would take me about 30-40 yards to catch him. 4.47 sec may not be Olympic speed, but in the NFL it's pretty fast.

And there's a better than even chance that he's actually faster than that now.

Even in his highlights, he was caught up by defensive players while on the run. But that’s ok, not everyone has to be a track star. What’s even more impressive from his tape is his lateral speed, amazing agility, ability to make the first man miss, and most importantly his ball security.

The scheme will make him look faster than he is. Kareem Hunt was (IIRC) over 4.6 at the 2017 Combine and had multiple long TDs. We've seen similar plays from other backs the last couple of years. That's all scheme. And Edwards-Helaire is more talented than anyone we've had, and is a much better fit for what we do than anyone we've had.

Taylor is a good back but I think what everyone is saying is that CEH is a better back for our team. You can't deny even our future HOF QB chose him.

Also CEH had more receptions this year alone than Taylor did all 3 years combined. That is a huge part of his game and the Chiefs offense. He is just a better fit here than Taylor was.

What RB was a big receiver in that Chiefs offense?

In 2017 Hunt had 53 receptions and as a group they had almost 100 receptions. RB's catching the ball is a huge part of Reid's offense, always has been.

I imagine they will have close to 100 receptions as a group next year which is why CEH was just the better fit here.

Damein Williams caught 30 passes last season, that's 2 a game, he was the 6th leading receiver.

Hunt averaged 3 catches a game.

His agility and stop-start motion is on Barry Sanders/Marshall Faulk level and that is no exaggeration. His receiving skills are also up their with your Kamara's and Mccaffrey's!!!..I mean the kid was lining up out wide and in the slot, and was running REAL receiver routes for God sake :D . JT is a better fit for the Colts. They run that down hill running scheme like Wisconsin. CEH is a better fit for us. He he starred in a much more versatile attack at LSU and is a tremendous route runner out of the backfield. The scheme fit cannot be overlooked.
