Lebron didn't need to carry anything. He just needed to actually show up. Wade did more than enough as a #1.

How is that mental gymnastics? He needed to be the best player on the floor (as always) even with the best team he ever had. He wasn't. They lost. He learned from it and was the next two years in wins.

Booker has acted tough his entire career. What the **** are you talking about? Luke needs to worry more about not crying to the refs for every one of his missed shots.

Merely pointing out that Luka embarrassed Booker and your franchise in game 7 of the playoffs last year.

He's the one that gets to talk shit until the stink of that loss washes off, not Booker (especially considering the Suns had to add a top 10 player in history to beat Luka and that Booker is no longer leading that team).

Because there's a huge gap between the Lebron that we got in those 2011 Finals and the "best player on the floor"...

What is this shit?

Booker is still #1 on that team and apparently you aren't allowed to add talent when you have the chance.

Irrelevant to my point. He played like shit and they lost. As with every other season of his career, he had to be the best player on the Heat to win that series and wasn't (and he clearly was their best player all year before that point, even with Wade not being washed yet).

Kevin Durant is the #1 on any team that Kevin Durant is on. He's one of the greatest players to ever play the game (Booker is not that). See his Finals MVPs he won while playing with Steph Curry (who is as well, as much as it pains me).

Welcome to KCC Lebron Stan logic.

Suns can stack the deck in their favor all they want. I welcome it in these times.

But talking shit to Luka after he eliminated you in the playoffs last year and after Durant carried you across the finish line yesterday (with 37 points and the game winning shot) is something else, wouldn't you agree?

Scott Foster basically lost his mind, yeah. A strange ending to a good game. Denver got three questionable calls in a row before that to effectively decide it and I’m sure the Raptors were bitching about them. He probably just forgot that he hadn’t T’d up Barnes before that though.

It would have been weird for him to talk shit after missing that layup, but then again it’s Luka. What’s even more funny about all of it is that Booker wasn’t even talking shit to Luka, he was just pointing out that it should have been a foul. Luka getting upset about anyone complaining to the refs is hilarious considering it’s what he’s most famous for. His own coach hates how much Luka cries to the refs.

That is why I said if true. Don't know the guy but I found it interesting Jenkins said no timetable for his return so doesn't sound like 2 games will be it. Could be wrong.

But since the police are now investigating him and the NBA finds out he had that gun on the team plane he could get an indefinite suspension. Arenas got 50 games which would be the precedent.

Gilbert brought a gun to his LOCKER ROOM without a license to carry in the District of Columbia so he committed a felony. I don’t see the league using that case as a “precedent” considering there are some major differences. Mainly there not being any “victim” as Ja was just flashing the gun on social media. Gilbert was in a feud with his teammate when he brought the gun to the locker room. That’s obviously a huge difference.

Sassy Squatch 03-07-2023 11:44 AM

Huh. That gun flashing on Instagram may cost Morant 50 games. It's an automatic 50 game suspension if a firearm is brought on team premises. That includes the airplane, which Morant almost assuredly did to get that gun to Denver.

From the video above it looks like he might fly private with his family. His drinking and partying might have saved him on this one. It’s gonna be hard to prove he ever had the gun on team premises from an Instagram video in a club. It’s just a case of Twitter being Twitter.

Do you think his gun is registered or licensed? What are the odds on that? My guess is his suspension is the culmination of everything that has happened around him in the last month or so. The NBA probably told Memphis do something or we will.

And for the record this is all in the CBA.

Quote:

NBPA Collective Bargaining Agreement, Article IV, Section 9a (paraphrased): Players shall not possess a firearm at a team or League venue or facility, including when a player is traveling on NBA-related business. So, carrying the pistol on the plane is a violation.

Section 9c says Violation of Section 9a is 'conduct prejudicial' under Article 35(d) of the NBA Constitution and Bylaws.

Constitution Section 35(d) (paraphrased): the Commissioner has the power to suspend for a definite or indefinite period, a player who in his opinion shall have been guilty of conduct prejudicial.

Memphis is in Tennessee so I don’t know what the odds of it have to do with anything since it’s not required. The issue is you all are assuming he carried the gun on a plane. While, yes, that is very likely, it’s much harder to prove that is the case in an actual investigation. The league won’t take Ja out of the playoffs.

You should worry about your own wannabe thug that is somehow still on your own team and throwing tantrums on the court when the teammate he sucker punched doesn’t want anything to do with him. Surely they’re over all the off-season stuff by now. They’re 7 road wins into the season at this point.

lol I saw that and just rolled my eyes. That punched ruined the season and he is gone next season. Never seen a team on their level be so good at home but be so dismal on the road. I imagine your team will roll them tomorrow night.

That is freaking awesome. Man I love that and the NBA needs to fix their ref situation. They are worse than the NFL refs IMHO. Giving out stupid T's for bouncing a pass etc just dumb, dumb, dumb

Without Ja this team is so susceptible to huge runs. We just don’t have anyone else that is an elite 1 v 1 scoring threat to stop runs.

You have Bane who is an all star. I really like Tyus Jones

Bane unfortunately just has too many cold streaks to rely on. Then you have Brooks who thinks he can stop streaks and he just forces stupid shit up and wastes possessions. I love Tyus, though. I’m so surprised the Grizzlies were able to keep him this season. He’s such a valuable PG off the bench. When he has his floater going he becomes really fun to watch. The Grizz have good offensive players, but unfortunately Ja is really the only one you can really fully rely on when you need a big bucket to stop a big run.

Someone should let Draymond know if he doesn’t get out of bed soon he might be looking at another play-in game early exit like the Grizzlies handed them a couple seasons ago. Has he always had that podcast? Seems like a really bad idea to let that idiot run his mouth even more than he does on the court. I’m surprised Kerr and the Warriors allowed him to do that with the off-season he had.

Lakers look good. He just needs to sit out the season at this point.. They don't need a stat chasing, ball stopping, no d playing Lebron back. Trade him in the off season and build on what they have.

When you know something is bad for you so preemptively address it so you can frame it yourself instead of get beat over the head with it.

Tell me more about how badly the Lakers suck without LeBron and how he was right to Jake games after the scoring record because he shouldn't waste his energy on a lost cause.

This is a fun team to root for when he's not involved with it.

One of the worst teams in basketball without King James, Yknow.

KC is so vested in Lebron Stanning that he's totally lost the plot.

He's a weird dude. He actually does the same shit with Mahomes. Throws anyone under the bus to prop up Mahomes. The only difference is Mahomes is actually the GOAT and not a total douche bag.

Bad for me? How are Lakers wins bad for me? If this Lakers team that LeBron has built is now suddenly capable of winning games without him, think about how good they might be when they add a top 10 player in the league in a few weeks. With as weak as the West looks, they may have an actual shot to do something after all this year.

The only thing that matters here is winning #5. Everything else comes secondary.

They're both the GOAT of their respective sports (well in Mahomes' case it's the BOAT, but if he plays long enough, he'll clearly reach that). It can't be helped that some people still weirdly cling to myths built up from the past (with MJ and Brady) despite obvious evidence to the contrary. The only difference is that MJ was actually the best at his sport for a decent period of time; Brady clearly wasn't.

I saw a crazy stat the other day. MJ has only 1 less scoring title than Lebron, Kobe, KAJ and Wilt do combined. Had he not taken that 2 year break obviously he would have 1 more than 4 of the top 5 guys ever. Just insane

Now just imagine if the all-time scoring leader wasn't a pass-first player how many scoring titles he won.

Yeah. That pass first guy with a whopping 7 assist per game avg. Let's not pretend like he was Magic dropping dimes

No, he only averaged 10 PPG more than Magic at the same time as dropping all those assists (24th highest assist rate of all time at 7.34 a game).

dlphg9 03-12-2023 01:21 AM

I'm not a Draymond fan, but him doing that podcast immediately after the game and calling out Brooks was awesome. The Grizzlies are one of the least likeable teams in all of sports. They haven't done shit and there best player is a punk ass bitch that's surrounded by the biggest idiot friends and family of all time.

You do realize that everybody on that list (https://www.basketball-reference.com..._g_career.html) ahead of him was a pass-first player as well, right? Not one of them averaged as many points as LeBron did and only two of them (Oscar Robertson and Westbrook) even averaged 20 PPG.

I'm not sure what point you think you're making, but LeBron was quite literally a pass first player who nearly averaged 30 PPG anyway. He's the most complete player of all time, hence the GOAT.

The point is if a guy has as many scoring titles as the 4 next best players that guy is unquestionably the best scorer ever.. But I'll also give guys like Malone and Lebron props for playing a lot of years and racking up numbers. Tom Brady achievement awards. But hey LeBron had a whole 2 more assist per game in an era with rules and styles that heavily favored offense so pass first guy! or something like that.
