Even as a rookie he was insane. A sack, a QB hit and a record 12 pressures in the SB per PFF. He's also young while Chris is almost 30.

It's not even close

He's a defensive end.

Double team him like Jones does and then we can compare.

We don't have to tear down Jones to make ourselves feel better about paying or not paying.

Deebo at almost $30? I had no idea. That’s insane. He’s worth at best 2/3 of that.

What's what happens when you dick around with a low Year 1 figure and then it goes tits up on you.

They worked a lot of money into years 2 and 3 to get the year 1 cap hit down to $8.5 million. And they'll probably push some of next season's base into 2025 before they cut him after next season and turn next year's figure into about $22 million before they eat $20 million in dead cap the following season.

Draft well, fellas. Draft well.

Because 2nd contracts are REALLY expensive and you have to get them right. 3rd contracts? Well you probably just shouldn't be giving those anyway...

Yep.

Our last couple drafts have been killer and to my knowledge, we haven't paid a single drafted player yet since Veach been here.

It is what it is.

It's why sometimes, getting production from a guy like Donovan Smith at a B+ level is worth more WAR wise than getting A+ from Trent Williams.

You can chop Aiyuk and Armstead off that list pretty easily next year.

Is Aiyuk on a 5th year option next season?

Man, there are a LOT of places I'd look before I looked there. That's a bargain figure for a guy I expect will have a big year in 2023.

You are naive enough to think that teams aren't chipping the **** out that guy with a RB and putting a TE in to help double him most of the time?

Have you seen the rest of that SF DL? I'm sure he's getting the same amount of attention as Jones, right? Statistically we should be able to find that.

MVS at $10 million vs. Hill at $28 million.

It's also why I don't want to go trading 1st round picks for every slappy Mcslapdick who's unhappy with his present contract. Like someone I know....

You think KC is going to suddenly up their number because of Bosa's deal?

Nah that isn't happening.

Gotta think this is Jones last season as a chief now.

They'll probably be able to finagle a trade and gain a nice high pick.

Jones has had TWO seasons with more than 10 sacks. And guess what, those were both contract years. Give him a 3 or 4 year deal and he's going to give you 7 shitty half hearted sacks along the way. **** Chris Jones and his stupid ass agent.

More: Nick Bosa gets $122.5M in overall guarantees and the team will waive all fines.
