Whatever. We're still getting Jones back this year at some point. Let's just go get another chip.

Clark Hunt and Brett Veach to Brandt Tillis:
Brandt, can we take a look at those salary cap scenarios where we pay one of our Hall of Famers the market rate for a Hall of Famer at his position. Brandt Tillis: Will this be for the cap projections where the fans have to pay for ESPN, NFL Network, Amazon Prime and ****ing Peacock to get all the national games? CH and BV: Of course. BT: No problem, it's actually pretty easy. |
Purely just my gut instinct and some reading between the lines on Jones recent statements... but it sounds like maybe, just maybe, things are starting to thaw out a bit
Thats what I'm rolling with, anyway |
It isn't hard to show Jones how he doesn't deserve Aaron Donald money... look at the stats and then look at the age when the stats fall off!
Donald has outperformed Jones in tackles, sacks and forced fumbles. Jones being paid less than that is appropriate. |
$34 mil/yr for Bosa is insane and I'm hoping this doesn't make Jones increase his number.

Ask Frank Clark. |
Any chance of that got blown away by the Bosa deal.

I really don't understand the "Aaron Donald deal doesn't matter" people. Patrick Mahomes got paid $45 mil/yr and that was $10 mil/yr more than the next closest deal. There are like 9 QBs that make more than him now. If people are making more than Mahomes, then people are going to make more than Donald.
Imo the way Jones is doing this is dumb as shit and should take $27.5 mil/yr fully guaranteed if he was serious about wanting to play with KC forever. If he wants to get paid what he thinks he is worth than that then the dumb shit shouldn't be holding out getting fined and missing game checks. Also taking time off means he's likely to not get as big of a contract from another team. He's taking advice from 2 bozos and should tell them to kick rocks and do this thing on his own. |

I really don't want his contract messing with the future of this team. I'd rather re-sign 3-4 really good players (Sneed, Bolton, etc) than have Chris Jones with a bunch of affordable JAGs. Chris Jones isn't Pat Mahomes, he doesn't touch the ball on every play, playing the hardest position in sports. |

Anyways they've been planning for a Chris Jones extension for a couple of years, so they already know what they are going to do and they already didn't have to pay Tyreek. There should be a good amount of money to sign most players even with a Jones (who is worth more than pretty much all the others combined). |
