This wasn't exactly Panthers-level unconventional, but it was a fairly nonstandard Draft by the Chiefs in this mock. I can easily say the Chiefs are better off with it. They have a new powerful DL (the Jared Allen trade occurred after the mock was over), a great change-of-pace back to LJ, and a couple great late-round selections that could help boost this team's OL in a hurry, including Stevens as a great blocking TE.

My complaints now that I analyze this muted version of what the Chiefs' options will be are their pair of CBs and WRs. Simpson has great numbers but his production at one of the smaller school (of which I am historically a skeptic) were low. Bess is the other way around -- he's got incredible production numbers that rival any WR in this Draft, but his numbers are sorry. I would have made other WR selections over the course of this Draft. Likewise, Justin King is promising, but he's been consistently inconsistent and hopefully Herm will be able to sort those issues out. But as always with the Chiefs, who ****ing knows.

Yeah, right. Because Lord knows the pieces of Crap OLineman Carl has picked in the late rounds the last few years have all had a huge impact. Get real. I dont know who did that mock but ignoring the team's biggest weakness until round 5...galactically stupid. Which is probably exactly what Carl and his merry band of idiots will do.

While I don't necessarily like his draft, targeting a specific need when you're a team that sucks ass everywhere on the field would be assinine.

Well, a Thank You goes to OTW (and others) for all the work that made it possible to do a 7 rd draft. I never thought you would get it done after last years attempt.

Although I only made the first 2 picks for the Jets, I definately learned a lot about the lower round choices, of which I had no idea about. That's why I left it to the gurus. :)

Now it's almost time for the real thing. Good luck Chiefs! :thumb:

I just want to say.... I got ripped for reaching with my picks, but there were at least 2 others teams with morons pulling the trigger, as both my picks went before they did in this mock in the real draft.

What does that prove?

Absolutely ****ing nothing. I just wanted to say that.

You people suck. This mock isn't even close to being accurate.

In our defense, we only get to see numbers and plays on TV. None of us have any real exposure to smaller school guys, and none of us have had any personal interaction with them.

Not to mention, we started almost TWO MONTHS ago.

Hey Hey, I said with the Allen trade I'd give the Chiefs Branden Albert so they had DT OT in the first give me some credit!

Direckshun 04-27-2008 12:56 PM

Actually, I'm looking at the people you've picked over the course of the Draft, Mecca, and you've been startingly accurate with most of it.

Groves was the one real surprise there, and I've been on board with you over that one.

chiefscafan 04-27-2008 04:26 PM

well beside selecting brohm too early my panther draft doesn't look that bad huh LOL

ChiefsCountry 04-27-2008 10:03 PM

Hey the Bills took Xavier Omon just like I did in the mock.

With the 220th pick in the draft, The New England Patriots select Marcel Reece WR Washington

I'm also doing my best to make sure my beloved Huskies don't go an entire draft without 1 player drafted.

Needless to say that he wasn't drafted. He did get a shot in Miami though, and was promptly cut after the first weekend. Damn shame, I thought he'd make it. Still might, but he's behind the eight ball big time now.
