That used to be my favorite beer. It has since been bumped to #2 by Firestone walker's Double Jack. If you are a fan of DIPAs, you need to try it!

Doublewide is gooooood stuff; definitely wins "best label" award in my book.

Make sure to grab a sixer of Hopslam when it comes out this year. Very good DIPA.

One of the best IPA's I've had recently:

So how much is craft beer where you guys are at? It's ****ing expensive here in Boston. Like a 4 pack of Blvd Double Wide IPA is freaking $13. Usually a 6 or 4 pack costs around $10. Pints of craft beer ranges from $6-15, depending on the beer of course. Something common like Sam Adams costs about $10 for a 6 pack.

Hell a 6 pack of miller ****ing lite costs $8.

A four pack of Double Wide will run you anywhere from $9 to $11 around KC.

Don't invite Phobia over to share that stuff. The paint just might come off the walls.

Old Rasputin is one of my favorite imperial stouts. Good stuff.

So true. I had to stop drinking it. I was straining the seams in the back of my shorts.

good luck with THAT!
I had to get on a list last year just to get a six pack.
if you find a place in the KC area that allows you to buy as much as you want....LET ME KNOW! or at the very least buy a case for yourself.

honestly....IPA's just don't do it for me.....but Hopslam is second best beer I've ever had. and my big ass has had a lot of different beers (plates on the wall at the saucer :thumb:)

#1 BBQ
#2 Hopslam

phisherman 01-10-2013 10:32 AM

Oh, I'll be able to get Hopslam. I don't ever sweat finding beers. If I don't get six packs myself, others help me out or I can just drink it on tap, which is best anyway.

I have some good relationships with liquor store employees around town.

I really like the Organic Chocolate Stout... I bought just about all I could find around town. I thought Old Rasputin was ok... I'd rather have a Lagunitas or SA.

phisherman 01-10-2013 10:45 AM

Also, though Hopslam is highly sought after, I'm a little more excited this year about Bell's releasing their Black Note stout in 4 packs and KC will actually see some of it.

Consider the style different between the Old Rasputin and the Chocolate Stout. A sweet stout versus a Russian Imperial Stout is really like comparing apples and oranges.
