Best case here is that we just manage to get through the game without Pat getting killed and then Humphies is back soon after that and can solidify that position for the playoffs.

Short, quick throws and heavy on the run. If you drop back more than 3 steps, the ball needs to go at least 25 yards in the air (make the risk worth the reward). And make sure those longer drops are off a play action. You just have to be more deliberate in your play calling and when you DO call a more aggressive shot play, you have to actually TAKE the shot. If your QB won't stand in there and do so, then don't call the play. But the first 2-3 drives need to be nothing more than plays that Garrett CAN'T directly impact just to see what it is he's doing out there. If he's just selling out up the arc...well now you know something you didn't. Now you can adjust accordingly. No reason to start Wentz. You just can't go out there taking 5 and 7 step drops 40+ times. |
My biggest frustration with Andy is his constant insistence to leave tackles on an island. I have never been more frustrated than SB55 when Mahomes ran for his life and Andy just didn’t care.
Leave a TE or RB in to block. Nobody gives a shit if that RB or TE is not a weapon. For the love of God. Line up Firsker inline next to whatever side Garrett’s on and keep him there. It sucks bc that means a receiving weapon is eliminated but you still have 4 weapons on the field. No idea why Andy is not doing this. |
Not to change the subject here but I agree with what DJ said during the GDT. Mahomes is missing guys and hurting the OL. He’s gotta get rid of the ball instead of holding it too long.
Perfect example here. Watson wide open and Mahomes just nerfs it. Gotta fire that pass Patrick. They’ll fix it

This is the play Mahomes mentions in the presser, too. Talked about hitting Kelce and just seeing what happens, but if Mahomes gets a tick longer, Watson breaks open on the dig route behind Kelce, which I think is the intention of the play. I talk about it more tonight on RGR! https://t.co/PfJxPSlFRK pic.twitter.com/sCO9esGZVk
— Daniel Harms (@InHarmsWay19) December 11, 2024
 |

The day to day death sentence.:shake:

Coach Reid (about an hour ago):
“D.J. Humphries won’t practice,” revealed Reid. “Again, we haven’t listed him as out or anything there, so we’re just going to take it day-by-day and see how he does. Every day, he’s gotten a little bit better, so we’ll see how all that works.” |

Well, it was a joke about starting Wentz. Obviously, that's never going to happen while Pat is actually healthy. Just don't want to see Pat getting destroyed by Myles. As for the game, I figure they'll take away Travis and DHop, probably have Denzel Ward on DHop most of the game. That leaves Watson, JuJu, Worthy and I guess Gray, having to step up to replace a large percentage of their production. So those guys are going to have to get open early and often. I wonder if we'll see more moving pockets in this one? I'd do it, with Garrett out there. |

If Humphries got hurt right now and missed the playoffs, I'd bet Wanya takes the snaps. I just don't see them signing Smith at this point.
