A rookie LT.

The rookie LT can end up breaking the thing that makes all the rest of it work.

And that's REALLY the case if they can't get someone like Harrison and they're left with a reach like Duncan.

There are a wealth of scenarios where there's nobody worth taking at OT at 31 and the cost of moving up to say 18 (i.e. this years 1st, next years 1st and likely a 3rd or 4th) is just so damn prohibitive.

Damn I wish Brown wasn't such a ****ing weirdo. A lot of this stuff could've been planned for better if that guy was ever shooting straight with the organization last year.

Haven't thought about the right side, though.

You can't add chips/help to BOTH sides with any regularity. The fact that OBJ could often hold his own meant they could switch up the help assignments and keep teams guessing.

But if you're sending a rookie and a guy like Niang or a cheap vet out there, both of whom will likely need as much/more help as Wylie got, you're going to run out of bodies pretty quickly.

I think they’re bringing back Wylie, to some peoples dismay.

However I really like this draft for us to draft multiple tackles. It’s got some nice depth.

At least with RT\Wylie Patrick can protect himself because he can see the rush coming.

I am probably in the minority but I would bring back Wylie back

I’m sure we can find someone who is at least average there.

Hard to think one of theee highly rated guys would be much worse than Orlando was last year and he got a shit load of help.

I have no problem using a 1st, 2024 1st and 3rd to move up if it’s a solid LT. Most important position after Patrick locked up for the next 7-8 years.

Lot of value in that

I would too. Can't go into the draft with too many holes. But Wylie might have a legit market out there.

Two firsts? **** no.

I think we would be surprised at how little a difference the performance would be with one of these 1st round tackles versus OBJ.

Can't forget just how bad OBJ started this season. Was almost bench able if they had anyone else to play.

We're picking at #31. "One of these 1st round tackles" is going to require a trade up. If they want to get to the mid-20's, fine. Giving up a bevy of picks to get in the top 15 is a non-starter.

I agree unless he wants $10M +

And I don’t think they will. I’d be fine giving up a 3rd this year and a 2nd next year to move up if they have a guy they want fall a little.

Even just taking a guy like Dawand Jones at #31 would, in my mind, be about the performance of OBJ.

Go watch some Dawand Jones highlights.....The guy is basically OBJ.

I don't think they will, either. I could see them trading up 6 or 7 spots. It won't be much more than that, if they trade up at all.

It’s gonna cost the Patrick Mahomes price to move up to 18-20.

We are basically a lock to pick from 28-32. Our 1st rd pick isn’t that valuable

Yep.

He's basically OBJ. So he's a 4-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion before he's ever taken a snap?

Let's get real here. Nobody on CP is satisfied with OBJ and nobody wants to pay him top-of-market money.

But this idea that just anybody can replace him day 1 is just silly. There's no truth in it at all.
