Looks like the Cowboys' loss is the Steelers' gain.

You pick a guy in the 4th/5th to compliment him, not this early...

Pretty much the same principle as the Panthers and DeAngelo. You don't take someone at #13 to complement him, you pick up Matt Forte a little later to provide some Thunder to help out your Lightning.

Why do I think he could be a possession receiver? Because he has good hands, holds onto the ball, and can take a hit. When he had to run as a QB he was a "smart" runner. A 3rd down, or possession receiver, has to be able to take a hit, get yardage after a catch and be able to hold onto the ball. What you don't need is to be fast....I have even given examples of guys like Fred Belitnekoff, Steve Largent, Todd McNair or even Hines Ward. None of those guys were fast....and were valued 3rd down receivers.

And FWIW, you can't truly think he is a drop back passer...if you do then you didn't see many of his games and are guessing.

Isn't Groves a 3-4 DE, not the 4-3?

Mendenhall going to the Steelers.

Willie Parker and Mendenhall. Nice combo.

What about Lawrence Jackson?

Like Lawrence too, I'd rate them almost equal honestly, both ahead of Merling.

CB. They only have 1 legit guy.

Perhaps WR...

Edit: Next

In cover 2 he can put his hand down and be a DE, cover 2 DE's are small look at Freeney and Mathis up in Indy.

I really hope we don't do that. I don't want him to be the next Leonard Davis.

He shouldn't have been, don't blame me for other teams stupidity.

banyon 04-26-2008 03:43 PM

Mendenhall on the phone

I don't like this pick for DAL. Felix is a good speed RB and should compliment MB3 well, but you could get that type of RB later in the draft. Why use a 1st rounder on someone who will be a backup player when you have other needs such as CB and WR?
