@JeffPassan: The Marlins have sought volume in their Jose Fernandez trade talks. Few teams in baseball have as much prospect volume now as the Dodgers.

Assuming Alex Gordon is still alive, would you do 4/$92?

I presume the "offering Alex Gordon a $23 million AAV" part.

5/92 seems sensible...I guess (but probably still too much given that year 5 is likely going to get you a 1.5-2 WAR player); 4/92 is batty.

Just so we are clear, I agree. I wouldn't want any part of that deal. But, that is a number a saw referenced yesterday in a Boston rag.

I'm guessing, given the proclivity of MLB teams to overpay for corner OF talent in this market (Jayson Heyward), that 4/$92MM for AG might not be too far off.

Me? I'd do 4/$75

I have been busy and haven't been able to keep up, so far we've lost Zo and Cueto and signed Soria. Am I missing anything?

Alex Gordon MAY have been killed in a car accident.

Hmm, could be some fireworks on a double play ball at some point this year

Former Royals Outfielder Garth Brooks changed his name to Chris Gaines, and is a free agent. He's been out of the league for awhile, because he has friends in low places.

That will save the Royals some cash.
