In an effort to prove to a moronic coworker (who doesnt' even own any weapons) that one is able to conceal carry (open as well, but wouldn't want to) on your own property w/out having a CCW in Lenexa KS, I arrived at the local ordinance for Lenexa KS regarding unlawful use; figured I'd post it here for any other Lenexa Residents.

Obviously, if you possess a CCW/CCH all the unlawful use stuff in Section A, is not applicable (per Section D / State issued CCW/CCH).

http://www.ci.lenexa.ks.us/lenexacode/citycodes.html

Section A: Unlawful Use of Weapons is Knowingly:

A.4
Carrying any stun gun or firearm on one's person, whether concealed or not, except when the person is on his land, in his dwelling or in his fixed place of business, or unless such stun gun or firearm is unloaded and encased in a container which completely encloses the stun gun or firearm.

I'm not aware of any place in Kansas in which it is unlawful to carry a firearm in your residence or place of business. It was legal to do so prior to the establishment of the Kansas CCW law, and remains so.

KSA 21-42(a) Criminal use of weapons is knowingly... (4) carrying any pistol, revolver or other firearm concealed on one's person except when on the person's land or in the person's abode or fixed place of business;

yeah, the guy I was dealing with is a total tool. He knows my stance on weapons etc, yet always engages me to argue etc. whateve.r
anyway, he was bringing this up today and I told him one doesn't need a CCW or otherwise, in order to carry concealed/or otherwise on their own property etc. His reponse was "I'll believe it when I see it. You need a CCW, or else you're breaking the law and can be turned in".

so I sent him the link. Haven't heard back from him today.LMAO
guy is an idiot.

Tell him to go to a locally owned jewelry store or pawn shop and call 911 to report a person a person working at the store in possession of a concealed weapon. I would be curious to know how that turns out for him.

Dayze 02-09-2012 03:57 PM

yep.
here's my deal with this guy. His view is there is no need for people to carry, concealed or otherwise. Fine. I'm ok with that. I might disagree, but I don't have a problem with that philosophy.

However, he takes every opprotunity to bring up the subject again and again (via news articles, web stuff, etc). Whereas I don't mention anything to my coworkers about 2nd Amendment stuff (it's like Politics and religion....just don't talk about it if you don't know someones view on it. It's just easier), he just keeps showing up.

Moron. one day, I'm just going to tell him "Dude, I get it. You don't like guns. I don't GAF, so GTFO of my space".

** Edit**....don't want to turn this into a DC issue etc. Apologies for almost lighting 'that' fuse.

Picked up the Stoeger Couger 8045 today. Not a bad looking gun. Going to hit the range in the morning.

so I'm getting a pretty decent tax return, over $1k, what should I blow this money on, any suggestions? Should I just load up on ammo for the end times??

Frazod 02-11-2012 08:54 PM

Well, I've got everything for the new AK except the new AK, which will be delivered at some point next week. Picked up some surplus $10 Bulgarian magazines and loaded them up with cheap ass Russian ammo.

God that ammo is filthy, and I mean out of the box. After loading two magazines my thumb and index finger were nearly black. Price is right, though (500 rounds for $100). But I'd damn sure never load any of that Russian shit in my AR.

Goddamn that looks painful.

This week someone fell in love with my ccw Sig P238 and traded me a Glock 36 .45, an AR Lower, and an LCP for about half price. I think I did just fine. I'm going to build a coyote smasher with the ar lower.

I'm looking pretty hard at the new Ruger 1911 .45

What happened?

verbaljitsu 02-12-2012 07:27 PM

I appears from his photos that the SKS he bought had a demilled chamber with a hole drilled through it. He must also be left handed.

General question...what would be the route for selling two firearms I have and fairly quickly? I have...

Glock 22 S&W...had maybe 75 rounds put through it, three 15 mags, case, etc. Its in pristine shape.

&

A Remington .270 that's had maybe 5 shells put in it with a carrying case, nice scope. It's pretty much brand new.

Also what do you guys think I should ask for both? Worried about taking them to a gun store and getting lowballed.

Dayze 02-13-2012 08:02 PM

Should be a receipt/bill of sale and it's good if you're selling person to person within the state. I think if it cross state lines is where you might need to go the ffl/ATF 4473 Paperwork route. Also I think you need to use fed ex/ups for pistols

One you think you have an idea what you want for it I'd post it on gunbroker.com or something similar and auction it. Buyer would pay for shipping and ffl on his end. You pay on your end. Prolly like 20 or thereabouts. It's like a eBay for guns. See if you get any bites etc

You're right...you'll get casseled if you go to a gun shop on consignment/outright sell or pawn shop
