Think the speculation centers around his 35 million cap hit for this year and FA next year. They really need to trade him or restructure him. If he is not going to restructure and be a long term solution, why not move him and get a late 1st or high 2nd and free up some money to address their many needs.

I would very much like to trade for Tunsil but extremely doubtful it will happen. Sounds like they are working on an extension as his cap hit is $35 million this year. He also wants to be the highest paid LT, not sure we would do that but we might for the right player.

Not if they trade up.

I'm not at all worried about it. There's no emotion in it for me at all.

I'm just talking about reality. A draft pick is always a crap shoot, that's just reality.

We're trading a 5,000 scratch ticket for one that hasn't been scratched off yet. The latter might be a 25K winner. It might also win you nothing.

I thought i read he was expected to get $35M in 2023. Yeah i bet he's happy with that.

Even though everyone hates it I'd probably have a conversation with Lewan about what he'd expect money wise. He's not that far removed from being a high level player.

To get Tunsil, I'm wondering if we need to (or are planning on) throw(ing) a starter-level player into the mix to go along with the picks.

Some risk there, but when our back is against the wall....

It may hurt to send a guy like Sneed, or Gay, but it also means we don't have to pay them in the future, and those positions are more easily filled in FA and the Draft then the LT position.

This would be a new move for Veach though, because I don't remember him sending players packing via trade before.

More of a testament to Mahomes/Andy. I showed our worst case scenario. Mahomes was hit a combined 17 times in the Bills/Bengals games. He was pressured a ton.

We still almost won.

And really an athletic tackle makes me feel a lot better about the position. If Orlando struggled with one thing it was speed rushers blowing by him.

The Chiefs have shown since day 1 of Reid's tenure that they will spend significant resources on a LT. Whether it's Fisher a 1.1, going after Trent Williams, or trading for OBJ, they have yet to play it risky at the position.

I don't know what the plan is, but I do know that it's not to sit back and wait at 31. I'd be pretty shocked if they do that, and it would probably mean that they're VERY confident that they have found a hidden gem that can start day 1 if need be.

Maybe it's Tunsil, maybe it's OBJ, maybe they trade up for one of the top 3 guys, or maybe it's a move none of us see coming.

I just know that I'm very anxious to see it all play out. And if it's not OBJ or Tunsil, I'm excited to see how they use the money they save to fill other holes like DE.

But what if you go out and get a guy with good athleticism and he can't handle speed rushers?

Again, I'm not saying anything is guaranteed. All I''m saying is that nobody else should, either. Nothing is guaranteed. Nothing.

You think Brown JR is worse case scenario at LT?

With the way Mahomes plays, man....I dunno.

It's the 2nd most important position in football. Really don't understand the massive pushback about trading up if Veach and Reid think they have the right prospect.

Yeah, not even close to worst case scenario. That's just more silly, unrealistic talk.

Getting beat by speed rushers takes time.

Getting an athletic LT who may not be able to handle bull rushes means getting beat quickly.
