Seriously though they should've traded him and gotten the best compensation they could imo, whether if it was a 3rd or 4th rounder at best. I wouldn't want to keep him here, esp since he doesn't want to be here.

I agree.

I have no doubt that Tony will give full effort, I just hope he keeps his mouth shut and plays ball. He's created enough of a distraction already.

I sure hope so too, he's been a class guy and a leader except the last few weeks.

Wrong again.

I'm a HUGE football fan. I try to watch as many games as I can on Sundays.

Where you are right is when it comes to the Chiefs, yes, I care more about the team than any one player that contributes to it.

That's unfortunate, IMO. The team belongs to one family. The game belongs to us all.

I've enjoyed Lou Groza, Jim Brown, Leroy Kelly, Dave Logan, Kevin Mack, Earnest Byner, Bernie Kosar (I especially enjoyed watching him win his SB ring with the Cowboys), John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Terrell Davis...

Also Larry Johnson, Tony Gonzalez, Trent Green, Priest Holmes...

A bunch of others. Settle down and enjoy the game.

My bad. "Earnest," not "Ernest."

You couldn't be missing the point more if you tried.

I enjoy the hell out of players. I just don't hold their success/failures above those of the team.

I hate the Broncos, but I've really enjoyed watching Brandon Marshall this year. I've really enjoyed watching Matt Forte. Among others.

But I'm not fans of those teams.

Whether the Chiefs as a TEAM win or lose is more important to me than if Dwayne Bowe catches 15 balls or 2. Or if Tony Gonzalez breaks another record this week or next.

You couldn't do a worse job of making your point if you tried.

You aren't a fan of your best football player. Just admit it.

I don't see Brian running to Carl's office asking for a trade just because things aren't going well right now.

Dude you are not EVEN comparing Waters to TG are you? For real? You are doing that with a straight face?

You have to be shitting yourself to think I would buy that comparison for a New York minute.

Yes, TG has given a lot more than Waters has. Is Waters the best G to ever play the game??? He couldn't hold Shields' jock.

Long enough to lose all the oxygen to his brain apparently.

You are a ****ing idiot.

Yes Tony is one of the best ever to play the game at his position.

But he also was blessed with talent that made him a top 20 pick in the draft, and he has lived up to expectations.

Waters, on the hand, was not blessed with that same God given talent.

He was undrafted, bounced from team to team, and position to position, and through sheer determination and effort, became one of the better players at his position.

He may not be one of the best ever, but he damn sure gave every bit as much of himself as did Tony, if not more.

The only ego Herm can't handle is Carl's...

You could also add Kimble Anders, TRich, and Dan Williams.

All guys easily overachieved and got the stinky end of the stick when it came to carl. These are guys who for the most part didn't raise Cain or complain about much, they just went out and produced.

Hell, if anything, I'm sick over Shields not getting a ring...

Chief Faithful 10-15-2008 08:47 AM

Herm is definitely a control freak with what I believe are some serious insecurities so it is easy for me to believe he has trouble with all the locker room egos. I believe that is why he did not help Bowe get his 5 yards and Gonzo get his 3 even though it was important to the player and fans. This is one area I believe DV was much better than Herm. DV made sure Priest got his touchdown even though he had to alter the game plan to get it.
