So far Aaron Rodgers looks to break that trend, but ill bet that 3 years riding the bench helped the transition a little bit.

I think Rodgers had a better year than he's given credit for the Packers defense really let down.

Didn't he miss three weeks of practice?

Frankly, the more I learn about the guy... I am beginning to think he is a head case.

I initially liked the idea that he was going to throw at the combine.

Now, I think he may be a little too arrogant.

I am sure you know about his arrest, I think in his redshirt Sophomore year because the girl said no and he wasn't hearing it.

Now, he has one good year in college and Pete Carroll tells him he should stay in school and he's not hearing it.

Just have to wonder if he thinks he knows better than everyone else, and has this self titled attitude.

Don't need that on this team.

I was really hoping to find out more about him and get sold on him.... nothing so far.

Forget to take your bi-polar pills today?

In the thread start you said, "...I love the fact that this kid is willing to do the full workout at the combine. That shows confidence. That shows courage. Now, it may also show a lack of level headed decision making. And, at the QB position, you want a guy that doesn't force things. But, I must admit, that I like this move."

Now your saying he is a "head case" and "too arogant".

Personally, I think it's a good move. I'm not sure I wanna pick him at #3, but I like the attitude of going for it and not just hiding out at his pro day. That "anytime, anywhere" workout attitude will leave an impression, IMO.

He's a good leader, he's going to be a great leader, and he's going to be our leader.

Print It!

I do see leadership ability in Sanchez that I haven't seen in Stafford...although that's probably only because his exodus from USC was more highly publicized than Stafford's. The other thing that left a mark on me that has me preferring Sanchez over Stafford is the performance of the team. Georgia was a disappointment from expectations, while SC pretty much met them (and probably would have beat Florida in a title game.)

It takes a long time to develop the trust, but as far as Mark knowing his role and what he's supposed to, I believe he and Haley would work great together.

That's it.

I knew there was something about his college game that usually means there should be a red flag, but I couldn't remember.

Yeah. At that point Tedford wasn't the red flag, since the only track record had been Akili and at that point, hey, maybe that's the outlier! And then Harrington goes to Detroit, Tedford goes to Cal and produces countless guys who make no NFL impact. And really, you and others have hit upon a key point: Rodgers, and most college QBs who have any hope of being successful NFL QBs, need time to grow into the role.

The only concern I have with Sanchez or Stafford is that I'm worried about the staff throwing one of them to the wolves. I would rather have our guy slowly work his way into being an NFL QB and see Thiggy or John Q. Stopgap lead the team to a 5-11 season than try to toss our stud rookie out there in week one when he isn't ready. Starting as a rookie doesn't automatically lead to disaster, but it greatly increases the chances.

The only concern I have about the two, is that the one we pick may end up being no good!
