LOL. I can't wait to see who wins the suckfest over there... Simms or Orton...

No, you let your personal dislike of an entire conference do it.

Haven't you made numerous posts about Cutler's temperment and how you don't know if a guy like that will ever be able to really lead a team and win it all?

Denver got bent the **** over.

Yeah, that doesn't look that good when you consider that the firsts are likely mid-to-late firsts and Orton is terrible.

It shows you what the league thinks of Cutler in comparison to Cassel when you look at what they went for.

The Bears acquired quarterback Jay Cutler today for first-round draft picks in 2009 and 2010, a third-round pick this year and Kyle Orton, the Sun-Times has learned.

Other reports add that Denver also sent Chicago a 2009 fifth round pick.

The Chicago Bears pulled the big upset Thursday afternoon by acquiring Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler, a source told ESPN.com.

The Broncos confirmed the move.

To acquire Cutler, the Bears had to give up quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round picks in 2009 and 2010, a source said.

To complete the trade, the Broncos had to give back a third-round pick in 2009.

The Bears beat out the Redskins, Buccaneers, Lions, Titans and other teams to get land the 25-year-old Pro Bowl quarterback.

The Broncos had been asking for at least two first-round choices.

I don't know what he said, but I do know that Cutler couldn't lead the team he was on to win it all. The Bears are a very different team that he could lead. Unless Rex Grossman beats him out....

At least not as well as their Cutler pick was turning out. Despite the high price, I still think this deal makes the Broncos worse, so I like it.

I am jimping at the possibility of further screwing the Donks over.

A QB with 60 career TD passes is worth more than one with 21 career TD passes?

I'm not a giant fan of it, but I still consider him at worst a top 10 QB and for a franchise that hasn't had a good QB in basically 40 years, you take that chance.

Go tell that to the people who seem to think Cassel is better than Cutler.

There's also the fact that we had a huge cap space, so they knew that worst case, we coudl still pay him the ~15 mil and not have to worry about us working out a contract too.

Yes. Detroit can't get Cutler now (I would guess) and they still need a QB. I would bet that SOMEBODY (probably more than one) is going to want to move into the third spot by the time the draft rolls around.
