Why would Pioli base it on that? They aren't equal at all. Nor close.

I agree. Stafford was a good qb at Georgia. Cassel had a terrific year playing in the National Football League

I agree. last year everyone said REACH when they took Jerod Mayo in the top ten. He turned out to be badass linebacker and rookie of the year.

In Scott we (Should) trust

Maybe, but I've seen people fantasizing about that since the day the trade was made. Hell, I thought about it a time or two myself.

How is that absurd? Ben Roethlisberger made $30M last year. Starting QB's get paid...they traded for Cassel to be the franchise...he signed a franchise QB contract...boo****inghoo!

If you don't think he's going to get paid as much as the top QB's in the league, you're crazy.

1. No it's not - Big Ben has over $36M in guarantees.

2. It's ****ing reeruned to just look at the guaranteed money, when other QBs have monster contracts that may not get paid in full, but most certainly pay them more than $6M a year.

For reference sakes, last year Big Ben made $27M, Jamarcus Russell made $17M, Romo made $13M, Peyton made $12M......this was all earned last year.

Cassel's $6M a year contract will not earn him the 2nd most amount of money of QBs next year. Absolutely ridiculous attempt by you.

I think 36 is a ridiculous ton of money if that's guaranteed, but if you complain about that then you have to complain about the money Stafford and Sanchez are getting too. It's pointless.

I have faith in the new regime. If they think Cassel is the man, who am I to disagree. I'm fine with Jackson, Curry, Monroe, Crabtree or whoever they think is the best player for the team.

Now, if Pioli is here 20 years and never makes the Super Bowl I will question his decision making. But I'm going to defer to his decisions as I'm sure he knows more than I ever will about player evaluation.

Go Chiefs!

Some of us would have preferred that Hunt look elsewhere for a GM before he hired Pioli.

I'm reserving judgment, but it only says $36 million guaranteed. It may be a $70 million contract with bonuses and such.

I think 6/36 is wrong. 36 is guaranteed...if it is 6, it is probably something like 6 for 70.

Not my choice but wish Matt the best for the Chiefs sake.

People act like they're paying his salary out of their pockets.

If it's a regular 6 36 deal it's fine if it's 36 in guarantee's it's absurd.

Not from my POV: 22 vs 27. That should indicate a big difference of contract size.

That said, rookie contracts need capping.
