It must mean that he can't be valuable to the Chiefs.

He's better than Copper. By a mile.
Copper's last catch was in 2007.
Baskett's proven he can stretch the field.

It's not a matter of whether or not he's valuable it's at what price is he valuable. I can wash my car for $3 and get it pretty clean or I can pay $16 and have it somewhat cleaner. I'd rather save the $13.00 unless I know there is some real benefit to a somewhat cleaner car (ie. getting to the promise land).

Is Baskett our ticket to the promise land?

I should clarify that I would really like to have Baskett on the Chiefs, I just can't see the logic of paying him more than anyone else would just because we have it.

This team has money to burn. Remember prior to signing Wade we were almost $9M UNDER the cap floor. $1.5M isn't exactly going to put us in Salary Cap Hell if things don't work out.

No, but that's a moot point. No one player will ever accomplish that all on his own. Building a winning football team requires upgrading several positions until the overall talent level of said team is improved. It's a collection of individual signings that will turn this team around. Baskett can help and is a better option than Terrance Copper.

Maybe he just doesn't fit into the "right 53" mold. Pioli wants players that are all about football. Live, breath, die football.

Maybe they think his relationship with Kendra and the reality show will distract him from dedicating himself to football.

@AdamSchefter As expected, WR Hank Baskett went unclaimed on waivers. He's now free to sign with any team. Baltimore would not surprise me.

He is signing with the Colts.

Not that there was a doubt but Marvin Harrison will not be back with Colts. Indianapolis will sign former Eagles WR Hank Baskett today.

His name sounds like something you might find on the floor, in the corner, of a peep show booth anyway.

It also might be that he has some speed, but he doesn't have stellar hands.
