A good majority of this fan base is far to scared to want to take a QB, Carl had this base pegged they like the safe vet QB's more.

Yeah, we want the perfect prospect otherwise we're not all that interested.

And aside from Stafford and Palmer I don't know two better pure prospects for the QB position in forever...and we didn't really have a shot at them anyhow.

Lets remember we took Derrick Johnson over Aaron Rodgers and everyone jizzed their pants about it.

I haven't seen anything from Sanchez so far that leads me to believe he's a franchise QB. Maybe he proves us wrong, but as of right now, no. And Matt Ryan... the Falcons opened up the offense and he's also been less than impressive.

I think the truth is that these spread offenses are really stripping the NFL of some really good QBs. There aren't nearly as many franchise QBs to go around these days.

We should never draft a QB man, we're happy with Tyson Jacksons of the world so we can never win anything.

No doubt. Terrance Cody.... come on down!

And anyway the entire point of that post was to illustrate that no matter who the QB is this fan base will argue against taking him.

It could be Peyton Manning and we'd hear how he isn't worth it.

Oh, I don't disagree one bit. My previous post wasn't a slam to Clausen at all, either.

Far from a Cassel hater, but the fact is he's not producing for the Chiefs. There are legitimate factors as to why, but the Chiefs can't ignore it. I'd rather see the Chiefs take Clausen than take Okung. Hell, Clausen should be high on their list of Berry is off the board and STL elects not to draft him.

Russell Okung would be the shittiest pick, it would even be worse than Tyson Jackson.

See the Will Shields thread.

Sure, but DJ was a consensus fantastic pick for our slot. Hell, we had Trent Green and the most amazing offense EVAR assembled that year. Nobody was pissed about picking DJ. I don't like to go back and say what if, unless it's obvious we ****ed up AT THE TIME.

Hell, I'm sure people will complain that we didn't pick up Flacco last year some time down the road. Even though Dorsey was an awesome pick and value for the slotting we had and nobody thought he'd fall to 5.

True that.

Dayze 12-27-2009 04:42 PM

...and now the excuse for not taking a QB (if he's there) will be Cassel and his $$ contract.

I know. And believe me, if Tebow, McCoy, and Bradford were the only options, I would not be wanting a QB either. BUT...

That period is the downfall of this organization we kept taking defense defense defense as the offense aged and we never got players to replace them.

If we had just taken the best players we could have had our QB behind Green for a year or 2, we'd have better receivers and our line would have never got to what it has.
