that thing you saw was the 2nd lighting. Apparently theres an olympic rule that they have to have a torch visible to people from outdoors, but they were in an indoor stadium. So, they had an indoor lighting and an outdoor lighting for another torch across town.

For the indoor torch, they had a mechanical failure which hung up the ceremony for a couple minutes before they gave up and went with what they could do.

It's the equivalent of a basketball player scoring 70 points but missing a last second layup that would have won the game.

I doubt she ever will. I mean, everyone KNOWS she looks like a lipstick lesbian, but to admit it would hurt her career.

I did enjoy Gretzky's drive out on the back of the truck to the outside cauldron. People were going nuts and there was no security either. Pretty hilarious. Not sure if NBC had that, I was watching that online on a Canadian feed.

I didn't think it was possible to completely nail the ceremonies only to completely screw up the torch lighting.:doh!:

That's what they get for not including William Shatner.

He would of forced that 4th pillar up with sheer willpower.
