Sure, it could mean the difference between picking in the top five in the draft and an average team, but not an annual powerhouse who year after year is in the discussion of teams likely to compete for the Superbowl. That distinction goes to the teams with QBs that play at an elite level. Period.

It wasn't always that way. The league rules pertaining to hitting the QB and defending WRs was such that teams that Schottenhiemer and Peterson built could be good enough to win. But that isn't the case in 2011.

Pioli's job doesn't hinge on this hire. It hinges on his ability to identify a top tier QB. So far he has failed.

Yeah, tell all this to Harbaugh and Alex Smith.

Head coaches are more valuable than you are giving credit for.

No big deal then. Sounds like pioli was doing everything he could to get romeo what he wanted.

Lets hope form holds when romeo wants rgiii

Bull.

RT @SI_PeterKing: Just heard the Josh McDaniels deal to New England is not done yet >> I think he really wants to go to KC.

Let's go over the implications in that little sentence, shall we?

1.) Implied King had some actual inside knowledge.

2.) Impled that perhaps McDaniel was wavering on signing a deal with New England because he was in negotiations with KC or hoping to be in them soon.

3.) Implied that McDaniels really wanted to go to KC, with the obvious inference being that he might he HC now or very soon, further implying a lack of support/interest in the Chiefs organization regarding Crennel.

When, in reality, it amounted to King flinging shit at the wall and hoping it stuck.

If he'd simply said, "McDaniels hasn't signed anything yet," and left it at that, his reporting would have been accurate. By throwing in the "really wants to go to KC" bullshit, King showed he's a ****ing tool. He should stick to talking about Starbucks, and his daughter's soccer-playing.

I wasn't aware that they have made multiple playoff appearances. My bad.

Do you even know how to read Twitter posts?

Mike Freeman from CBS re-tweeted Kings report that the deal wasn't done. The person after the >> was Mike Freeman's opinion.

Harbaugh will make multiple appearances. If you don't think he will, I don't know what to tell you. The other Harbaugh has won without a real QB either. Joe Flacco sucks.

O.city 01-07-2012 07:15 PM

Just let us know if you hear anything about the qb badd Guy.

I think, as a typical Chief fan, I am getting more excited about the draft than the actual season. Ha.

I forgot the Ravens have won the Superbowl with Harbaugh. No?

You mean they only have 1 AFC championship game appearance since their last Super bowl win over a decade ago?

Hell, sign me up for that.

O.city 01-07-2012 07:21 PM

If Berry comes back healthy and the d progresses the way it should, the Chiefs could have a defense that could take them places like the Ravens.

problem is we have seen that story play out.

Exactly. What is the difference between the Steelers and the Ravens the last 6-7 years.

HOF safety? Both have one
Defensive MVPs? Both have had multiple ones.

Huh, I wonder what the difference could be?

I don't twatter, so, no. Then it's Freeman who needs a pimp-slap, not King.

It brings me joy that Patriot fans get so upset about such trivial bullshit.

donkhater 01-07-2012 07:36 PM

Baltimore and/ or SF may make it to and even win the Superbowl. But putting that type of offensive pressure on a sub par QB is not the formula for long term success.
