Peyton Manning - QB - Colts Woody Paige of the Denver Post insists free agent Peyton Manning isn't going to the Broncos "under any circumstances," especially since Manning and Tim Tebow are both represented by CAA.
Paige isn't in the habit of breaking news, so take the report with a grain of salt. Paige's "sources close to Manning" maintain that Denver doesn't fit the quarterback's priorities. Manning reportedly wants to play for a Super Bowl contender, preferably in a dome, with a loaded offense and quality defense. Furthermore, he hopes to bring Reggie Wayne aboard while "running the show and making calls on the field." Related: Broncos

I still dont get the dome/weather angle. He's a football player not a basketball player. I would think Manning would want no part of Denver/Tebow drama.

I love how EVERYONE seems to have sources close to Manning all of a sudden.

SO many contradicting reports. I can't wait for all this to be over (after he signs with the Chiefs of course).

Throw shit at wall.

Hope it sticks.

If the Chiefs land Manning, the best part won't be knowing we actually have Manning on our Roster.

It'll be laughing at all the media dick bags that talked shit or underestimated the Chiefs.

Seeing their little hearts broken because he didn't go to Miami.....ughhh....I would bask in it all year.

BossChief 03-08-2012 03:04 PM

Loaded offense and quality defense, huh?

If we were in a dome, this would be a slam dunk.

The only teams seemingly interested in him that are in domes are also in the NFC.

I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic about this, but it's hard to hide the boner from my customers.

Hopefully reports are true that he will pick a team next week (even though I doubt it since he hasn't scheduled any visits yet) because I don't think I'll be able to handle it if he drags this on for weeks or months and then doesn't sign with us.

Woody is a moron. I've taken bitches from him at the bar.

Denver is not a serious contender for Manning and I honestly doubt their interest is serious.

Well not to mention that Peyton is bringing along Wayne with him wherever he goes.

You take our WR/TE core plus Reggie Wayne? I'll put that up against everybody.

If we got Peyton Manning, people would be talking about Dwayne Bowe like he's easily top 5 in the league.

I can't see this team signing a 33-year old Wayne despite his history with Manning. We make a mistake to go all in on offense and leave the defense as it is. We have positions of far more need than to go 4 deep on the receiving corps.

The thought of him going to KC has them "interested" no doubt.

BossChief 03-08-2012 03:17 PM

If Miami only has 13 million in cap space, how would they sign Manning AND Wayne?

We have the cash to sign Manning and Saturday.

Not sure where Wayne would fit, though...he'd be like KCs "Hines Ward" where he really doesn't have a place.

Has Manning ever said Wayne would be part if the deal?

Purely speculation, though Wayne has made it clear that he wants to follow Manning.

Considering Manning made Wayne, of course he would. Who wouldn't?

usually donkey prickdom :cuss:

If Wayne wants to come on for a reasonable contract, fine.

It's possible that the Chiefs could lose Carr in free agency and add Routt, Manning, Wayne, and or Soliai.

I'd be fine with that.

Hell I'd take Manning and Carr and be fine as well. Tickled actually.
