Winning games because we are rushing for 200 yards a game... give or take a few... does not constitute a break out year IMO. And that is what happened in his 10 win season here in 2010.

Some people made fun of Eli before the start of last year when he said he was an elite QB.

He at least had a Super Bowl title as a starting QB on his resume... which included a dramatic drive at the end to win, which means a little bit in this case.

That's funny that you should mention Eli, because I thought the same thing. Their numbers are comparable and show Cassel isn't as bad as some would have others believe.

Eli had already won a Super Bowl. There is a ton of difference. His problem was that it was seen to be a fluke where he and the team got hot. Eli also led the league in INTs the year before, his second time leading that category.

Matt Cassel hasn't even thrown for 3200 yards in a season since he became a Chief. His "Pro Bowl" year, the Chiefs finished 30th in passing yards, 29th in attempts. Eli has now thrown 3 consecutive 4000 yard seasons together. Matt Cassel is not elite. The only ones claiming he is are Cassel, Pioli, and certain Chiefs homers.
