I think he can play on it they are just taking every precaution not to re-injure it. IMO if this were the regular season he'd be playing.

That's like a bruised tailbone and takes forever to heel(pun misspell intended:D)

Good luck because I have had this type of injury and it took about month and half to get back to 100%. Tender as hell in the beginning and just when you start to heal a bit you think you can go not realizing it is any easy setback type injury.

This is probably why he's sitting out, not trying to do anything at this point.

He thought it was healed up good enough, tried to push it, hurt it again.

Now he's probably getting constant treatment, staying off it.

I think he'll be back week 1. We don't need him in the preseason anyway and he's a pro.

Career ending injury... 0-16 forever now.

O.city 08-20-2012 08:07 PM

If it truly is a bruised heel, I'm less worried.

I was in a walking boot for 2 weeks with a bruised heel in High School. Hurt like a bitch, but I was good to go after resting it.

Welllllll, if that's the case them I'm not worried. No offense or anything, but this dude's an NFL athlete. One of the best conditioned and durable people on the planet.

I've pulled three muscles in my life (all three in the leg) and was pretty much useless after each one. NFL players pull muscles all the time and play the same week with no noticeable difference. I know this is a bit more severe but I'm just sayin'!

Wonder if he's gonna try to play next week?

I hope. He doesn't need the reps he's a vet.

In58men 08-20-2012 09:27 PM

Not sure if Q, but I did a little research.

It can take up to one 1 week to 3 months depending on his body, treatment and severity. If he doesn't play in the last preseason game I'd expect him to be out week 1 of regular season if not longer.

BossChief 08-20-2012 09:44 PM

Whatever it is, just let it rest and let him watch tape on Julio Jones and try to pick up on some tendencies he can use to jump a route or two of his in game one.

Let him and Bowe match up on each other in the week of practice leading up to the game and Flowers should be just fine.

How does a boot keep pressure off the heel anyway? Is there like a little donut in there?
