I put this in the same category as "we can sign Stanford Rout and still sign Brandon Carr..."

No.

Surely Dorsey didn't make that statement to lure others into trading into the #1 spot. There's isn't an Andrew Luck type of prospect in this draft, so there's no point in letting everybody else know who were drafting to keep all options on the table.

Tyson Jackson was a monumental reach who had no business being in the top 10, let alone top 15. He was a mid first round pick at best.

We draft Joeckel, then I'm cool with it, as long as we get our QB with the 34th pick or by trading back into round 1.

As said before, I would be ecstatic if we got Joeckel and Wilson. Absolutely ecstatic.

.

You're comfortable with a 1.5% chance to win the Super Bowl, eh?

Why not re-sign Albert, draft Wilson at 1, and then score awesome value on a starting CB just as good as Milliner in the 2nd round?

"Because that's not very good value"? Neither is drafting a tackle at 1 who might not even be as good as the guy you got there all so you can save money. In my scenario, at least you get a starting tackle, a QB that you wanted, and an additional hole on the team filled by a still pretty great player. In your scenario, you get the same QB at a better price, but you're jizzing away value on a negligible "upgrade" at LT. Not only that, you miss out on drafting a starting CB.

Makes no sense why that's an acceptable option just because Wilson was the value. How we for once don't worry about value when it comes to the QB? How about we use draft value to pick up all the shitty positions that don't win you anything like OT and DT. And you know... use the resources that we have been given to find a starting QB who doesn't suck AIDS.

Joeckel is not the best LT in this draft.

I think he was meaning if we re sign Albert, it would be an awful pick.

Funny cause about a month ago, you were talking about how awful it woudl be if we took an OL guy at 1. What changed?

Joeckel is being questioned not if he's the best OL in a decade, but in his own draft class. It we re sign Albert, Joeckel doesnt' make sense to me in that we have other spots I'd rather spend that pick on if we aren't taking a QB at 1. I don't, like some here, view Albert as a G. If we want to get better at G, Warmack/Cooper would make more sense.

I know you were all about Mayocks Geno stuff, so by him, taking Wilson at 34 would be a reach, he doestn' even have him as a top 5 QB, having him below Landry Jones. So is Jones better?

BossChief 02-23-2013 08:09 PM

Think about it, if Joeckel reaches his potential, he might have a year where he only gives up 1 sack.

Hootie 02-23-2013 08:09 PM

if we re-sign Bowe and Albert and then we take Tavon Austin after he runs a 4.18 40 because Reid thinks he's a better Percy Harvin then fine...I'll get over it

if we take any DL or OL with the #1 I'm going to hate them until they give me a reason not to hate them

in today's NFL you simply don't take OT or DL #1 overall anymore. It's ****ing stupid. I wouldn't take Willie Roaf #1 overall...I wouldn't take Warren Sapp #1 overall.

you win with playmakers...if they truly think Geno and the other QB's aren't franchise caliber QB's then fine...at least get me a god damn playmaker
