Yeah Prison Bitch is normally an idiot on most things but he is right about bitching about ESPN content in late June and July when there are no sports on to show.

I miss the WSOP.

ESPN is the best sports network and its not even close. Everybody always hates whos on top. They clearly know what they are doing, it would be foolish of them to cater to small markets like KC. The loss of viewers may only account for so many more competitors like NFL, NBA, MLB, B10 networks. There are only a finite number of sporting events to go around. Im sure ESPN would make an ESPN22 if they could.

I don't mind the softball, soccer, X Games, etc.
I think ESPN needs to do MORE of that type of programming. I wish they'd quit trying to "entertain" me (ironic, I know, since entertainment is literally their first name), and just roll sports. Shit, get more shows breaking down sports to the absolute nerd level like Jaworski's old NFL show. |

ESPN only contributes $4.69/month to my bill according to that article. How is that "ridiculous"? Unless you mean ridiculously low. I'd love to purchase cable a la carte. If I could, there's no doubt I'd pony up the $5/mo for ESPN. No doubt at all. Obviously if it went to that model, many subscribers who don't care about ESPN would drop out and that would raise the per-month fee on those of us who want it. But so? If they wanted to charge me $15/mo, it would still be a steal. |
Lol at Hootie getting banned again.

MLB network is 10 times better than ESPN...and any of it's BS TMZ style "coverage".....and guess what, MLB network actually shows highlights and in-game highlights of teams other than Boston and New York!
ESPN, about 5-8 years ago, started taking themselves way too seriously.....and liked to think of themselves as "real" journalists.......all the while creating stories out of the most non-story topics fathomable. What I WILL tune in for on ESPN: College sports (any of them) They do a real nice job with soccer NFL (but not pre or post-game coverage, or their "highlight" shows.......as the only real highlights come from the pats, cowboys, Giants, Eagles.....and occasionally Buffalo, because the asswipe Berman likes them for some reason) |
