I didn't miss the point. You used a terrible example. The reason people's first take on Chicago violence would likely be that it involved blacks is because.....

If there's that level of violence, it usually involved blacks, to the tune of 70% of the incidents despite being only 30% of the population.

If you wanted to make a valid point, you should have chosen a city where the percentage was in accordance with the population percentage.

Growing up in a racist household, I can somewhat understand where the opposition is coming from. My dad was a cornball racist who hated anybody who wasn't white and Christian. Using that negative influence, I've been able to overcome a lot of that hatred. Now, I'd label myself as a black man in white skin. For example,

1. I own 3 Kevin Hart DVD's
2. I only smoke Newports
3. My snapchat name is trayvonmartin
4. I have a closet full of Ecko shirts (shoplifted of course)
