This is pure fantasy, however. If the Chiefs trade Berry, I have to think it would be to an NFC team like the Giants, Falcons, 49ers or Bears. Teams desperately looking to upgrade their defense. |
I don't know guys, I'm just not on board with the Berry panic.
Why are we so sure he's going anywhere anyway? Yeah, they didn't come to terms but I still remember when many were suggesting we trade Justin Houston just over a year ago too... that turned around quick. If Berry and the Chiefs still want a long term deal together as they say, I don't think we should count it out by any means. There are plenty of ways to create the cap space between now and next offseason. |
I'm actually more concerned with the front 7 business right now. Plenty of ?'s to be answered.
Can Ford hold it down until Houston is back? When will 50 in fact be back? Will Poe play his way out of KC and if so will Chris Jones prove to be a capable replacement? Offensively I'm looking for Chris Conley and Tyreek Hill to win starting jobs at the WR position. |

Personally, I'd rather the see tag rescinded, which will result in a 2017 3rd round comp pick, or trade him for a 2nd or higher. If they let him go in 2017, the 3rd round comp pick won't be available until 2018. Also, it's one thing to pay a guy that led the league in sacks and plays a premium position as the highest at his position in the league, and it's quite another to pay a safety $12 million per with $36 million guaranteed. That's a waste of resources. If they rescind the tag, the Chiefs could pretty much control the 2017 draft with at least two 3rd round comp picks (Berry & Smith), a couple of 4th's (Allen and Stephenson) and probably a 5th for Tyvon Branch. Considering the picks will be tradeable next year, the Chiefs could seriously upgrade their roster. |

If they rescind the tag.....couldn't they then agree to a long term contract with him?
Not saying that it would happen.....but it's at least a possibility. |

IMO, they should have put the Transition Tag on him instead of the FT. Let him see how much he's worth in the open market and if it's too much, don't match it and move on. |
But seriously, how about all of the hype around Hill? It just keeps coming. Reminds me of Peters last year.
If that dude is everything he's cracked up to be and you get a solid #2 in Conley, the offense is legitimately going to be a handful and then some. |

Conley didn't rip it up in the offseason or in training camp (in which he missed most of due to the ankle injury) and by all accounts, Hill was the star of the offseason program. |

We were talking with Tyler Bray when the rookies and quarterbacks were arriving to Kansas City Chiefs training camp this week when someone asked which receivers stood out to him during OTAs. Usually quarterbacks will say they all looked good or something like that. But Bray thought for a second and said Tyreek Hill stood out to him. Hill, the Chiefs fifth round pick, has had plenty of publicity, not all of it good. The one good thing though has been the talk of his speed. It seems like those who play with Hill are shocked by his speed. Chiefs WR Mike Williams played with 2012 Olympic long jumper and Bills WR Marquise Goodwin in Buffalo. With that context, here’s what Williams said about Hill: “Quick man, fast,” Williams said via quotes from the Chiefs. “That speed. I played with Goodwin in Buffalo, and I haven’t seen anything like this. He’s quick and fast, and I can’t wait till the world gets to see him.” Phillip Gaines called him a special player. |
