He really doesn't have a long ways to go. The one thing he he is lacking is experience but the one thing he needs the most he will be sitting on the bench watching someone else play with experience. Isn't that a catch 22? To get experience you have to get/gain experience but because he doesn't have experience he has to sit and still don't get experience he needs to learn from in order to get better and adjust from his mistakes or do better on what he is good at.

I think he can already outplay Alex Smith but I want him soak up everything he can before he gets on the field so he will be that much better when he does.

Week #10 will be the week.

So, what is your most likely scenario? We'll be out of the playoff hunt or Smith goes down with injury.

He needs more time just in learning the playbook. It took Alex 3 years to learn the full playbook and he is really smart. Pat has only had 3 months to learn the playbook, so if he has to play early then you all will be bitching at Andy because he's going screen and run happy due to Pat's limited knowledge of the playbook.

I'd much rather see him play when he's had 6 months to learn the playbook, watch real games with defenses gameplannig/adjusting and going against the defense in practice.

We will be in the playoff hunt. Offense going full Smith. Special teams and defense carrying the load like last year. Reid knows he needs a change. Smith benched

Not sure how we can expect him to execute from the pocket when his blocking has been ****ing abysmal this preseason.

Dude is making chicken salad out of chicken shit.

No shit. He is doing well under really shitty circumstances.

If the Kid keeps working as hard and diligently as he has been, he will surpass Smith's much vaunted "wisdom/experience"-selling point by the end of next season.

He's already passed Smith by on the roll out in terms of what he can produce with it.

Mark it in your day runner:

Sunday, Aug 20th, 2017; Sweet Daddy Hate proclaims that the Kansas City Chiefs have finally done something right.

HUZZAH!

He's already surpassed 2016 Alex Smith in redzone efficiency.

Pinch me? Are we really experiencing this? I mean we're chiefs fans, we're supposed to worship shitty game managers....

No more.

And we're going to do everything in our collective power to kill that shitty "culture" dead, dead, DEAD.

He was bad last year didn't get benched when Andy had his own draft pick veteran on the side lines in Foles. I think he rides Smith to the end no matter what as long as we are in playoff contention.

If we're not he may pull the trigger.

True and it is a transition year at the most anyways. So really doesn't matter how Smith Smith's the year away.

Had Foles not look pedestrian against the Jags you better bet your bottom dollar that Foles would have gotten another start and test results would have found lingering concussion symptoms on Alex Smith.
