the stars are aligned, oddly enough in the year that alex is qb, not mahomes.

i say kc wins it all, alex is signed by the giants due to 'the current' streak being broken, and the chiefs don't miss a beat? :D

I think this is the best team under the Reid tenure....if they stay healthy.

Nearly 40% of KC's season will be nationally televised...usually they get 2 games, tops. When did the Chiefs turn into the Cowboys? Something is weird...

Nickhead 08-22-2017 02:11 AM

if houston, hali, berry, dj, alex, etc... get hurt this year i could see kc parting ways in some way shape or form. not to say all, and it depends on type of injury. but the obvious answer of 'can kc win it all if everyone stays healthy?' the answer is a resounding yes. :D

No, we dont...NFL giving KC 6 national broadcasts means they are out of the doghouse.

Chiefs never had Charles for any post-season games (Reid)...they didn't have Ware/Charles for the NE game. Houston has only been truly healthy for the first half of the Colts game. Maclin was out for the Patriots game too..their entire run defense was on IR against the Steelers.

If people are being honest..the only play-off game where the Chiefs were reasonably healthy was against the Texans... and they won 30-0. (Yeah, Hoyer sucks...but they still won their division and were at home. Blanking them is not something that should be marginalized.) They lost the other 3 by a combined 10 points...

Health is going to be the key...as with every other team.

Your Jedi speak doesn't work on me. It is depressing to watch another season the Chiefs trot out Alex Smitty no way around that. Fans will want to go to games in hopes that game is the game Patrick Mahomes II takes the field. They will also go to games because they are indeed fans of the Kansas City Chiefs. We got our asses kicked in prime time by the same team that beat us in the playoffs. Chiefs will be back in the dog house if they let that kind of thing happen again on prime time and it wont be a good look.

Alex Smitty doesn't win us games he lets the defense and ST do it then takes all the credit. He doesn't throw to guys on the field if it is risky because he is selfish in regards doesn't want to tarnish his reputation in not throwing many interceptions so he can't take the blame for losses. At that note he doesn't propel the team for wins he just lets the wins fall in place as they happen.

In playoffs he doesn't propel this team to win because he does the safe way that works for him over the season but that does not work well in the playoffs.

That's the gist on Alex Smitty he is selfish that he doesn't give his teammates a chance to win the game by taking a chance down field.

If the NFL powers want the Chiefs in the SB...they can make it happen. All of their play-off losses have come down to a play or two.....

Interesting that I thought GB would be in the SB last year...but seeing that the Falcons have the shiny new Mercedes-Benz Stadium opening this year...I now understand. Just business....

:D

He will play for the Chiefs if the Chiefs want him to do so at $20M as we have a contract option. But if he wins a SB, driving force or not, he becomes something we can sell for an asset in the form of another player we want or a draft pick, or several, plus we open up $20M in salary cap. I do not see the 17%+QB cost as something we can maintain in KC.

YEAR AGE BASE SALARY SIGNING ROSTER WORKOUT
2014 30 $1,000,000 $3,600,000 - -

2015 31 $11,900,000 $3,600,000 - $100,000

2016 32 $14,100,000 $3,600,000 - $100,000

2017 33 $10,800,000 $3,600,000 $2,000,000 $500,000

2018 34 $14,500,000 $3,600,000 $2,000,000 $500,000

You make football no fun as if it's all scripted. Maybe your right but I don't give shits it's not WWE.

Mahommes hands it off to Smith?!?

I'll go to my grave saying Shanahan threw that SB....no one can convince me that an expert, professional OC doesn't realize he has the game won...it's what he studies every day. Every drunk in every bar knew he had it won.

It's impossible that he suddenly forgot his job...sober...in the biggest moment in sports. It wasn't a pressure situation either...they had the lead. His own QB was like "WTF"?

& I'm saying it's not scripted but I don't rule out cheaters on an individual cases. That's not to say games aren't influenced by refs under the pocket of MOB like happened to that NBA ref some years ago I'm sure it happens today. There maybe even powers at be but don't tell me Super Stars are going risk injury like Joe Thiesman under LT and end his career those things happen. It's true Jerry Rice admitted to cheaitng in 2015 that he used stickum on his gloves knowing it was banned in the NFL. He tarnished his legacy by doing that. He acted on his own accord in doing so giving him an unfair advantage but I don't think outside a few close to him knew it.

I'm not naive that cheating doesn't happen but I'm not gullible to believe everything is a conspiracy and or scripted out for the season.

yeah, the first thing a head coach candidate wants on his resume, is losing a super bowl after being up by 25. :D

Sweet Daddy Hate 08-22-2017 05:58 AM

We have reached the one and only time that I find myself enjoying Reid's nonsensical coach-speak.
FINALLY.

So your theory on who would be manipulated into the SB last year was wrong so you found a different theory and you think that is further evidence that the NFL is obvious in what they are doing?

So obvious that even someone like you who is on to them had to readjust what he predicted?

One who not only wins games, but captures the imagination, and jersey-sale dollars, of all those soulless bandwagon scumbags who fawn over whoever ESPN tells them to. When Mahomes can line up with the likes of Manning, Brady and Roethlisburger, that's when shit will start to fall in place. That's when those crushing phantom calls and obvious non-calls that nobody cares about but us start going against the other guys. That's when we start being an elite team and stop being a shiny red doormat for the elite teams. Seriously, if Manning can win it all in ****ing shithole Indianapolis, Mahomes can do it in Kansas City.

But Alice can't. He will NEVER be that guy. And every game he starts just delays the future that much more. Get him the **** out of here now while we can get real value for him and jump start the future.

Yep. I've been saying this since that playoff game.

No..I didn't realize they were opening their new stadium this year.

I predicted the Brady revenge tour last off-season...I DID pick the SB winner.

While KC had a good year...I cant see why the NFL would give them the most nationally broacasted games. They are a small market team...with a marginal mid-west following. The Cowboys went 13-3.

They drafted Eric Murray last year. Do you think there is no chance he replaces Parker? I think there's a very good chance.
