True but you don't want egg on your face in the playoffs. The only way that happens in a cross conference trade is in the superbowl

Oh I agree but that is what's being said. Seattle didn't want to do the deal till after they played. Realistically they know they aren't getting more than what the cowboys offered. They know that everyone knows they aren't getting more than a 2nd.

Correct, the playoffs too (I forgot about that, thank you for bringing it up). Still, the like hood of Dallas seeing Seattle every year is just 50/50 at best.

For a 2nd rounder? I might see if Dallas may be willing to throw in an conditional or late round pick as well, if I was Seattle. Could use draft capital to rebuild your team or use it to trade up.

I can see a trade between one of our OLB’s (Kpass, Houston or Ford) and Thomas and some sort of pick with it...they have Barkevious Mingo and KJ Wright there...I mean, that’s not awful, but it could improve.

I think the thinking is if we trade him in conference the price tag is higher. That's why we traded Peter's to the Rams and Smith to the skins. I'm sure the Pat's would have given up a higher (or more) picks for Peter's but the Chiefs didn't want to have to face that headache.

Well, they're still going to face that headache in Mexico City, so I guess to me, it shouldn't matter if I'm getting a high draft pick in return just to face that headache for one game out of 16, not including playoffs/Super Bowl.

This...Thomas is probably looking for $10+ plus a year. KC cant have $24 million per tied up in the most devalued position in football.

The only way this would make sense is if KC believes Berry is done and reaches an injury settlement...or they are planning on getting rid of Houston next year.

Hard NO to giving up a second round pick. That's draft capital they can use to either move up or restock the secondary on the cheap.

Ming the Merciless 09-23-2018 10:42 AM

we traded two second rounders for alex, one of them was a very high second rounder

I'd give a 3rd rounder for sure or maybe a low second for him

once every 4 years versus annually in the playoffs.

I'd take my chances for a 2nd rounder, but that's just me.

RunKC 09-23-2018 10:48 AM

Safety is by far the most important position on this defense. We just saw the entire defense doing a solid job while Murray got torched.

I can’t blame Veach for exploring this option.

Hog's Gone Fishin 09-23-2018 10:51 AM

They can spend money on a quality player right now because in 4 years we gotta pay Mahomes and I expect he might be expensive
