Assuming that they are load managing him for the playoffs… because he needs more targets/usage.

Easy 6 11-29-2024 07:51 PM

This ****ing guy, he's just coming along like he's been here for years

Already proving he's not just some intermediate option, he's proving again and again he can get deep... and if he doesn't nab the pass, he can at least draw a flag

I want him here next year, bigly

Gray and Worthy also had nice games again. Pat threw for 306.

Yea, but if he hits a wide open Dhop in the back of the endzone, its game over and he throws for 321. It was one of the few attempts where he had time. Frustrating.

I'm rewatching the game, and D-hop got mugged at the 3. PI flagged, and we get the ball at the 13. WTF?

Bump 11-29-2024 08:35 PM

he came in and immediately made a difference.

He must be a genius because it takes other receivers years to learn Andy Reid's playbook.

Yeah, he was open open. Not sure how Pat missed that one.

Mahomes wouldn’t be making these same throws to any other receiver he’s ever played with.

He’s giving Hopkins a chance with a lot of these, and that’s a new thing.

Just thinking about DHop and a healthy post suspension Rice both just eating all game and what will it take to make that happen

I’d throw Brown into that equation as well, our WR core will look really solid next season!

Megatron96 11-30-2024 09:30 AM

During the game I felt like Hopkins was seeing the field more. This morning I checked. Deandre’s snap count: 42, 62.6%.

****Official Deandre Hopkins Thread****

I had him around 650-700 based on about 60 ypg.

Right now he is at 325 yards, 54 ypg, and 3 TDs.

He’s on pace for 596 yards and 5-6 TDs. That’s with the low snap counts. I still think these numbers will go up though, especially assuming the LT play improves with Humphries.

RunKC 11-30-2024 10:32 AM

You can’t tell me that the Chiefs are not wanting that 4th rd pick guys. The condition is 60% of the snaps to move from a 5th to 4th.

He played 59% yesterday.

Someone is absolutely monitoring this LMAO

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why he's not getting snaps now. They're saving him for the playoffs.

They need to do the same with Kelce.

I hadn't realized he was the third oldest WR playing right now. The way he moved and accelerated after Mahomes hit him up the sideline sure didn't make him look like a guy that would hold that title in the league.

It's becoming apparent they're holding him back for the draft pick. It's kind of shitty for the Titans and even Hop himself (even though we're under no directive to make life easy for Nashville), but we're still winning while doing it (even if just barely). I'm really looking forward to seeing him fully utilized in the playoffs with weeks of studying this offense and Mahomes' tendencies under his belt, not to mention the possibility of Hollywood out there making life even more easy for him.

That's inane if true.

And it doesn't jibe with the moves they've made so far. They mended fences with Kareem and brought him back. Then they went out and got DHop, an 'over-30 WR.' Then they recently sign DJ Humphries to try and stop the bleeding at LT, and the word is they plan on starting him as soon as next week.

They're obviously going all-in on the threepeat. But they're also making sure DHop doesn't go over 60% of offensive snaps so they can protect a 4th rd pick? Are Veach/Andy mentally unstable? I just don't believe that.

They’re trying to thread the needle here. The team has to sustain itself through the draft at this point and Veach has excelled at mid round picks. Every missed pick comes at an incredible cost for us keeping this ship going, and with Kelce’s retirement looming and huge contract decisions on the horizon (Bolton, Smith, McDuffie, an LT?, Rice, etc), Veach has to constantly be thinking about the longterm.
