Royals kryptonite on the bump tomorrow.

A soft tossing lefty.

Nah, you just bring the TV outside, sit in the pool and drink. It's more relaxing to be doing that while watching losing. I'd be doing it anyway so why not watch some sports. :D

Why Not? 10-08-2015 09:33 PM

So our season is up to a guy who has basically been a collosal bust for us. Then we have to win a game in a place I don't believe we've won in for at least the past 2 seasons. One of those games is against a guy who loses at home about as often as Aaron Rodgers. So, yeah, sorry I'm not super optimistic. Nobody will be happier about it than I, if you guys get to shove this up my ass later. Well, figuratively speaking.

siberian khatru 10-08-2015 09:34 PM

okcchief 10-08-2015 09:34 PM

It would be nice if Cueto became lock down and paid off when we need him most.

Baseball is weird. We aren't done, but it really felt like this game was important. We'll find out what we are made of now.

So 40 games means more than 120?

BTW, Zobrist was much better as a Royal than an A. Players have ups and downs. Baseball isn't like other sports.

Zobrist hasn't been dissapointing, and the Royals are a good team. Shit just hasn't been going their way. I feel like the massive lead hurt them more than anything. It's hard to pull off and try to go full speed again. It happens all the time.

If there's one thing we have going for us is these guys don't press much. I am sure they don't feel much pressure from losing game 1. They haven't had a long losing streak all year and you can win in any park on any night.

Dallas Keuchel isn't Steve Nebraska. The guy is a good pitcher and he has kicked ass at that shithole stadium, but Volquez is capable of keeping their bats quiet enough for you to scrape out a couple of runs.

If a shitass team like the Giants can only make the playoffs every other year and then fall ass over teakettle into WS titles despite often huge deficits in series, then you guys can take an 87 win Astros team.

This

I've seen Kuechel without command. We have beat him this year too. It's not ideal, but down 0-1 is still doable. This wasn't a WC game.

I've been a die hard supporter of both teams since I left in February 1993 but it's time for me to acknowledge my current responsibilities. Reading books and watching educational programs is more important than a watching baseball team 2,000 miles a way in a city in which I don't live.

That's really not absurd. You win 2 and 4 and you get a winner take all game 5 at home. It's very doable. And baseball is a weird game to begin with, you never know.

Why Not? 10-08-2015 09:45 PM

Ok. Let's look at it like this. Even the most homeristic of homers knows that tomorrow is virtually a must win. So it comes down to wether or not you like our chances with Cueto. I personally, do not. Want to be wrong, hope I'm wrong, will accept much shit talk of if I'm wrong, sadly don't think I'm wrong.

Cueto looked okay his last four starts. Kazmir was a complete dumpster fire at the end. He has not gone more than 4 innings in almost a month.

Now can the Astros win tomorrow... absolutely. But saying you believe Kazmir has pitched better than Cueto coming into the game is not based in any kind of reality.

It's sports. If you are that sure that Kuechel will win sell your house and go to Vegas.

duncan_idaho 10-08-2015 09:52 PM

Welp. That sucked. Have to take the next two, now.

But in what world has Ben Zobrist been disappointing? He has been exactly what should have been expected: A .280 hitter with good PPP and OBP skills who provides above average defensive play at multiple spots.
