serious about shitty right handed pitching. |

Even more concerning may have been Myers defense. His defense at both right and center have been atrocious in his young career. Put those struggles in Kauffman and we may have been pining for replacement level talent in right field. I love Wil, and want him to succeed. His wrist problems (arising from a crazy outfield collision) are the worst thing that could have happened to a young hitter. However, it's now clear that his skill set may never been the right fit for the Royals. Kudos to Moore and his scouts for seeing that as he was coming through the pipeline. |
Pelfrey is weak. . Detroit can have him
|
Pelfrey and Detroit's defense could be an interesting combination.
Detroit is really good up the middle with Kinsler and Iglesias, and really bad at the corners with Cabrera and Castellanos. Martinez is also pretty bad. He's a nice sixth starter signing, but yeah, I'd rather have Chris Young, personally. |

Cueto turned them down and they got a better player. Kinda funny.

IIRC, they signed. 10 year, $1 billion dollar TV deal recently so they can afford him.

6 year deal

It'll be cool to go watch Greinke this summer. Perhaps I'll adopt the D-Backs as my NL team. I'm in Arizona this weekend house hunting. Hopefully I'll find something I like enough to make an offer to get some stability back in my life lol

They can score a lot of runs, they were 8th in runs scored. They just dont have pitching. |

The Royals should never go away from what they are working with. Established franchises that have been around a long time should continue with more classic looks IMO. |

Hope it all goes well. I'd definitely be down for some Greinke games. |

I just think that if he wanted to win - truly wanted to win - there were better options available. And I don't mean the Dodgers. |

I know the Cards got a huge tv deal too. Too bad the Royals are missing out on this tv money. |

Better AAV than Price. |
Ken Rosenthal is saying it's actually 6 years, $206 million. That includes some deferred money though.

Good for Zack he now owns the keys to Fort Knox. I do always wonder what he thinks about abandoning the ship before it found success. I am surprised no reporter has asked his thoughts on his former team. Anyway I don't have any animosity towards him for wanting out of what he thought was a bad situation.

The giants have had such good luck with big starting pitcher contracts too.

A real good reason to hate the Giants now.

I think that trade was something like Zimmermann + Espinosa or Desmond + Wilson Ramos (may have been a different catcher, not sure on Ramos). That could have worked out. |

I still think the Brewer haul was better. |

I think a guy getting paid that much money ought to TRY. I know, as it turned out it was a great trade for the Royals. But that doesn't excuse Greinke deliberately tanking his last season with the Royals. |
