Tennessee gets Dalton Knecht
UConn gets Cam Spencer Kansas gets Nick Timberlake That was the season. None of the above were seen to be significantly better than another. I believe Knecht was listed as the best but it wasn't thought of head and shoulders better. |

3 different coaches have won a title there, too, which means their success carries over even with coaching changes.
That's a big deal. |
ESPN ranked all 85 championship teams.
They had 2008 Kansas at #24. Too low in my opinion. 2024 UConn was slotted at #29. |
Look at how hard KenPom boy is trying to sell it though!

Yet, they've missed the tournament twice as many seasons as the next team. If you say a season was fairly successful by making it out of the first weekend of the tournament, they don't do that 60% of the time... and besides Villanova, that's an extra 3+ seasons. And the Final Four is hard, right? Every other team has at least as many FF losses than NCs... well, not UConn, they're 6 for 7 winning it all once they make it that far. Every other team has a pretty normal downward slope on how difficult it is to win the tournament (besides Duke making the Sweet Sixteen) while UConn has about an equal chance of losing in the 1st weekend or winning a title... I will take losing in the first round six times and missing the tournament if it meant a championship six times in 25 years.

Danny Hurley is a Bengals fan. Wow. He's an unpopular guy on this board.
