It's called complimentary football, boys. Embrace it. It all works together.

Told ya, he looked sharp in warmups. Was running hard and making all the catches. I could tell he was motivated.
|
Looked good. Hopefully the thought that he was playing injured last year is true. Looked to have some power and burst.

The offense looked much better when Hunt went in.
He looks great. |

Brown had almost no reps with that NE team and immediately had a connection with Brady. He was going to be a perfect fit before he ****ed it all up immediately. Kareem just fits this offense perfectly, and Reid knows how to use him perfectly. |

He was great filling in for Gurley. Right guy for the right situation. |

Man....he looked good.
Sad but I found myself sitting there thinking "had the hallway kick not happened and he stayed in KC this whole time he might be a HOF'er" |

Thanks, Browns, for destroying Kareem's stock so KC could reclaim him for nothing. :)

The problem with our outside zone stuff is that it seems like we struggle to pressure the edge and open those cutback lanes. Teams just don't respect the edge. Yesterday Hunt was pressing the edge nicely. He wasn't hitting it because he ain't THAT fast, but he was at least making it an option so the DL had to flow with him. And in the process they opened themselves up for that downhill cut into the gap. Hunt just knew how to create a hole and when/where to hit it. He just looked polished. Not dangerous, but effective. |
That was a damn good rush defense too, pretty impressive considering.
|
I didn't think he was washed and said so here beforehand, but honestly that was better than I even hoped. He looked an immediate and substantial upgrade. I think he and Perine is absolutely solid enough.

It's why I don't.....I don't really care about speed at the RB spot. Sure, you have to have a certain baseline of speed but "breakaway" speed? Nah. |
There's only upside with Hunt back.
He'll mesh with the line in coming weeks and once Pop comes back we will have the best 1-2 punch in the league. Easily. Crazy how that stuff works out. There could be a silver lining for Rashee getting injured too in that it expedites Worthy's learning curve. |

You're right about Hunt, though. |

All we gotta do now is win the games we are supposed to win, and LIKELY we are the one seed. We have EIGHT GAMES against teams .500 or worse left. Five of those games are division opponents. We also get to play Justin Fields. Just take care of business. Mahomes and the one seed, we'll take our chances. |
Quote:
I'm fine with speed. I love speed. Give me ALL the speed at RB. I'll take Achane 100 times out of 100. But they have to have a threshold level of vision. And if they don't have that speed, the threshold level is a lot higher. |
Perine is also pretty new to this team. Their two main running backs were not part of training camp or any other off-season workouts. The more time Kareem & Perine get to practice with the team, the more they can get involved in the passing game. Could be a nice development as the weeks go along.

I love the dude. That kind of explosion is just so rare. That says, he sure has sucked the hind teat the last couple of weeks. Without any threat of a downfield passing game, there's just nowhere for him to go. |

Needless to say, I have a LOT of Achane stock. And yeah, it hasn't worked out terribly well the last two weeks. |

Achane was one of my picks. |

One of the best to ever do it. Injuries and Scott Sister****ing Pioli robbed us of so much there. |

Complementary as in 'a component part' -- complete. Complimentary as in 'did a nice job' -- the other one. Ask yourself if you're trying to say it completes a whole. If so, it's complementary. If not, it's probably complimentary. |

Charles Goldman reported on Wednesday that Kareem Hunt “might” have some kind of injury. I sure hope he is wrong about this.

Well, I guess they only tried to run Henry into the ground. People see the 2,000 yard season, and the speed, and they remember CJ2K, but the Chiefs were so bad, so not a lot of people outside of KC saw him play, and he really only has a single 5 TD game keeping him relevant on fantasy football forums. Charles will never get the credit and recognition he deserves. |
I think every single one of us wanted Kareem to get that TD LMAO.
I've noticed Andy gives the ball to Perine when you least expect it. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-media-max-width="560"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Kareem really wanted that TD. <a href="https://t.co/1PNnRw6cJ6">pic.twitter.com/1PNnRw6cJ6</a></p>— ️ Red Tribe Cinema (@ClayWendler) <a href="https://twitter.com/ClayWendler/status/1841861042902614175?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 3, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |

Absolutely LOVE Kareem being back. It was time to right that wrong and Kareem has delivered.
|
I'd like to complement Kareem for great game!
|
"He was on the couch for a reason"
Yeah, shut up dude. |
At this point in his career it's all about durability. He was never a blazer, ran a 4.6 at the combine. If he can stay healthy he can play another 4-5 years easily. Think I'm crazy? Frank Gore played forever. Not fast, always strong, durable, had a full steam ahead instinct.
Durability is the key. |
Im not saying im gay for Hunt….but im GAY for Hunt.
|
I for one totally buy the story that he quit drinking.
looked so spry |
Kareem brings something to this offense that was never replaced once he was gone. Yeah, D. Will was good. Yeah, Pacheco is pretty darn good. Kareem on this team, in this offense is a truly great player. The defenses feel his presence. They know what he brings, he has gravity.
Effing Juju scampered wide open for two huge chunk plays. Kelce who was in football Limbo for three weeks all of a sudden finds single coverage and open field. Chiefs had a stretch where they pounded the rock five straight times and looked good doing it. Then guys were running wide open. When was the last time that happened? When was the last time it looked that easy? When was the last time it felt that good? Above all what was the major difference??? KAREEM EFFING HUNT!!! (All we need now is Tyreek. :D) |
I'd almost forgotten what lateral movement looks like from a Chiefs RB. I'm drooling at the idea of Hunt and Pacheco both in the rotation.
|
What Kareem does better than anyone on this team in the last six years is turn 3-yard gains into 5-yard gains.
In that vein he's almost Marcus-like. Also, strangely I feel VERY confident when he gets the ball on 4th and 1. Again, Marcus-like. He seems to have an incredible knack for getting the most out of his OL. |

I don't think we've even done anything fun with him in the passing game yet.
I was expecting him to smoke some poor backup LB for the Saints on a wheel route tonight. You know it's coming. |

Kareem ran a hard game today, and took quite a few really tough tackles. Bounced right back up for more. Great to see him back.
|
Look at what creamy hunt does on 4th and 1 at the end of this clip.
I've never seen that from any of our other backs. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">How the <a href="https://twitter.com/Chiefs?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Chiefs</a> overcame a 2nd & 34.<br><br>: <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NOvsKC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NOvsKC</a> on ESPN<br>: Stream on <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NFLPlus?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NFLPlus</a> <a href="https://t.co/rdL2XDVdRe">pic.twitter.com/rdL2XDVdRe</a></p>— NFL (@NFL) <a href="https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1843465198101024900?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 8, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
In his interview he was pretty humble. Heal up and get ready for a long grind with 12 games after the bye.
|
What I like especially like about Kareem is the fact he pretty much never fumbles and his ability to get the first down in shoet yardage situations. Pacheco is more explosive but he goes down easier.
Welcome back Kareem! |
