Yeah, the Yankees haven’t done much with their base runners in this series. 20 hits and 22 walks and they’ve only scored 11 runs in 3 games. We just can’t get enough timely hits, and we’ve only drawn 7 walks total

Sassy Squatch 10-09-2024 08:24 PM

Pasquantino is a bit expected, no? He's back pretty damn early from a broken thumb and still has a bunch of hardware in his hand.

Al Bundy 10-09-2024 08:26 PM

I wanted this one bad tonight, but BWJ and Vinnie are a collective nothing so far.

Correct. They were hoping he'd give a spark, but it's not there, yet.

I agree. I don't think you can ask much from Vinnie right now.

But Bobby is an absolute no-show.

I’d say that’s probably a pretty good place to start when placing blame for this series.

Especially, when our two losses have been by 1 run each.

Yup. We needed them to be the good players they have been and they have done nothing.

1-25 with 2 walks and no extra basehits. The Royals aren’t talented enough in that lineup for those two to be that bad in this series

And yet, both losses have been by 1 run each.

They didn’t even need to be great. They could’ve just been okay and this series would be over.

You're a reeruned bitch. So reeruned, that this forum replaces the word reeruned with your username. Reerun.

smithandrew051 10-09-2024 08:31 PM

Just go win Game 4.

Pressure shifts entirely to the Yankees. They HAVE to win Game 5. There’s no moral victory in a loss for them.

Yeah, it has to be a little better than a combined 0.040 BA & a .120 OBP

God of Thunder 10-09-2024 08:33 PM

Not sending BWJr there is the equivalent of the Chiefs being down by 5 - inside the 10 yard line with 10 seconds left - and then deciding to kick the FG to lose by 2.....

You HAVE to go there - if you get out, then you get out....but you have to try

ESPN shows Wacha vs Cole again.

If that’s right, then we can win this in 5. Take Game 4 and ride with Ragans against Rodon again.

It's hard to argue with the results. But in game one, Bobby had three very hard hit balls that all went for outs, also got boned on strike three which should've been a walk. There's some bad luck there. Vinnie has had a couple shots too that went for outs, then that dying quail today that was a whisker off the barrel from being a line drive single.

I kinda wonder if the umpires are ****ing with our heads a little bit. They're so inconsistent and generally BAD.

Rodon will choke any game 5. Gotta beat Cole to get there first, though.

*2nd Guess Alert!!!!*

I was mildly shocked that Singer didn’t come back out to start the 8th after facing just 1 batter in the 7th. I thought maybe he’d stay in to face Stanton (righty-righty). Not that Bubic’s pitch was bad, but I thought it might be a better matchup.

Yeah, I thought that was a questionable decision too. It's not like Singer is tired, or would have any issues going multiple innings. Ride it until he gives you reason not to.

If Witt shows up, the Royals can win Game 4. That’s the catalyst they need.

Rodon is such an erratic coke head that I wouldn’t trust him to put this away in Game 5. Expect Judge to REALLY start pressing too.

Take Game 4. That’s all that matters.

Bob will be up anyway.

He’ll be masturbating in the corner as several Yankees run a train on his wife.

He wouldn’t have it any other way.

Aaron Judge might be the biggest playoff choker I’ve ever seen considering he’s basically a historically good regular season hitter.

Unfortunately this year the Yankees also have Soto to go with Stanton (who elevates in playoff baseball).

srvy 10-09-2024 09:00 PM

The Yankme's had their pregame dinner at Cascone's in the Northland. I was hoping Jimmy Cascone would serve them some special veal. He is a huge Royals fan and was hoping for some stomach issues.

It's an excellent restaurant I guess he couldn't make a bad dish. Been on N Oak for over 70 years. Jimmy probably took to good of care with them.

Lefties have done well against Singer all year.

Tough result. I stated out loud that I would have walked Stanton because he looked so locked in. Not a terrible pitch, but that was a bomb.

My thought at the time was that Singer was gonna go multiple innings. Given the game was tied, we could at least try to save the rest of the bullpen for the quick turnaround, and he was looking pretty good.

THIS.

You just had a pitcher strikeout the god of the MLB this year (besides Ohtani), let the guy lite up the next 3 batters the next inning.

cabletech94 10-10-2024 10:09 AM

Did anyone hear Marlins Man on Fescoe this morning? Pretty damning of the umpires. If you believe that sort of thing.

I will never ever ever ever understand this. A pitcher faces LH/RH batters all game. I understand the "matchup" - but unless the pitcher is having a great day and locating pitches, then don't yank the guy who IS - and put in someone who 'may' not have a great day.

Singer fanned them - leave his ass in until his control starts to slip.

These stupid MLB managers assume every pitcher is going to be in perfect command of their pitches every day.
