I'm actually very "giddy" about this trade and I am dead serious. It is not the end of the world for our beloved Chiefs team as many have posted. Quite frankly, I see this as a continuance of the new Chiefs identity that started with the AS trade.

As the ol saying goes, "For some kids you can take the kid out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the kid".

This is the case with MP plain and simple. Anyone who say's the FO/Reid are responsible for not getting MP to "get in line" and was managed poorly are just very naive about this whole situation. I assure you they knew this kid was a "train wreck" from the beginning and tried to get him help quietly behind the scenes from the get go. BUT if the kid won't get help and "doesn't want to leave the hood" there is only so much you can do. THIS IS ALL ON PETERS !!

Some of you have made very good points. Very telling that several GMs who know and have worked with Peters, now do not want anything to do with this guy especially when they have CB needs. Especially a former GM who went to bat for him in the beginning who now has a big need at CB who has plenty of picks to deal is now not interested.

If MP had EB character this trade doesn't happen BUT that is not the case. MP showing his cards he does not want to re-sign and then demanding a trade after the Titans loss, on top of his meltdowns on and off the field and especially with his mother. Reid/Veach are preparing for the future and Mahomes changes everything. Fellas, we will be scoring a ton more points which will be the offset for now until our defense gets back to full strength. Yes, it sucks that MP didn't have EB character but it will be fun watching this offense for sure. Several will be getting paid in the near future with Mahomes the furthest out which provides the opportunity to actually keep most if not all of our immediate productive stars while paying Mahomes as well. This is great news !! How many teams are in a position to do this ? Not very many.

Something tells me we will all look back on this trade and see that it was a "genius move"(blessing in disguise) that will rid the locker room of any kind of potential cancer that potentially could hamper a young talented QB, rebuilding the defense with many more picks that were desperately needed and our CAP will be in great shape.
