They don't have a 2nd round pick so I'm having a hard time seeing how we don't get their 1st. If all we get this year is a 3rd and something later then that's a messed up deal.

Let's not forget. We lost Peters for a game and the defense played better than ever.

We lost Kelce for a half and then got shutout

Kelce>Peters

Holy shit you sound so pathetically stupid that I think you are one of SAUTO's "sources".

No, he isn’t, and no he doesn’t.

There’s no was anyone can say Kelce is as valuable as Peters. And they both have the same propensity to disappear for a quarter or a half, or to appear to be half-assing it some of the time.

Based on past performance, it would be hard to value Peters as less than 2 1st rounders. We'll find out soon how much being a jerk is lowering his value.

Corners by nature are more valuable than receivers/tight ends

But why did the defense shutdown Oakland without Peters?

Why did the offense only manage one touchdown in the game Kelce went down?

If we had to trade one or the other I'd rather trade Peters, no question

This is weird. If you don't believe him, move on. The next few hours/days are rumors time. Pick your favorite and go with it I guess

Eleazar 02-23-2018 09:16 PM

If the Browns have a million picks and the price was this low AND they are being run by the guy who drafted him, and they weren’t interested, there’s a problem.

I'm actually very "giddy" about this trade and I am dead serious. It is not the end of the world for our beloved Chiefs team as many have posted. Quite frankly, I see this as a continuance of the new Chiefs identity that started with the AS trade.

As the ol saying goes, "For some kids you can take the kid out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the kid".

This is the case with MP plain and simple. Anyone who say's the FO/Reid are responsible for not getting MP to "get in line" and was managed poorly are just very naive about this whole situation. I assure you they knew this kid was a "train wreck" from the beginning and tried to get him help quietly behind the scenes from the get go. BUT if the kid won't get help and "doesn't want to leave the hood" there is only so much you can do. THIS IS ALL ON PETERS !!

Some of you have made very good points. Very telling that several GMs who know and have worked with Peters, now do not want anything to do with this guy especially when they have CB needs. Especially a former GM who went to bat for him in the beginning who now has a big need at CB who has plenty of picks to deal is now not interested.

If MP had EB character this trade doesn't happen BUT that is not the case. MP showing his cards he does not want to re-sign and then demanding a trade after the Titans loss, on top of his meltdowns on and off the field and especially with his mother. Fellas, "train wrecks" like MP rarely change and get better. And now he is going to LA !!! He is Terrell Owens X10 in LA that will soon get a lot of $$ while his stellar play disappears screwing the Rams cap down the road. Good luck with that !!! Now as a GM knowing the hand you have been dealt you have to make a decision that is best for the franchise.

Why in the world would we hang on to this 'man-child' until next year from a value perspective when it clear his value is the highest "right now" and not next year !! We only screw ourselves value wise by holding on to this guy for another year.

Reid/Veach are preparing for the future and Mahomes changes everything. Fellas, we will be scoring a ton more points which will be the offset for now until our defense gets back to full strength. Yes, it sucks that MP didn't have EB character but it will be fun watching this offense for sure. Several will be getting paid in the near future with Mahomes the furthest out which provides the opportunity to actually keep most if not all of our immediate productive stars while paying Mahomes as well. This is great news !! How many teams are in a position to do this ? Not very many.

Something tells me we will all look back on this trade and see that it was a "genius move"(blessing in disguise) that will rid the locker room of any kind of potential cancer that potentially could hamper a young talented QB, rebuilding the defense with many more picks that were desperately needed and our CAP will be in great shape.

I say :thumb:

BTW, I am not a MP hater BUT I do demand "high integrity" when "high adversity" hits whether on or off the field.

How about your claim that the Chiefs defense played "better than ever" without Peters against the Raiders?

Better than they played a week later against a red hot Chargers team, when Peters intercepted Rivers twice?
