ChiefsPlanet - Other Sports Off Season Lets Talk Guns

I got a couple of boxes of .45 as self defense loads. It's Hornady's Critical Defense round minus the nickel plated brass shell and green tip instead of red. I carry the CD anyway, and for the same price, why not?

I have Glaser safety slugs backed up by hollow points for the H&K and XDM.

Rounds specifically designed to shatter on impact with a hard surface. I live in a condo and have other units on either side of me. If somebody breaks in and I shoot them, I'm good. If the bullet goes through the wall and kills my neighbor, I'm going to jail.

How cool. Had know idea they made such a thing. For three years now I heard about this Refrigerator. Always wanted to ask,but figured it was non of my biz. So now Im asking, How did the frig end up with a cap in its ass?

Is a drawback of DI a dirty/dirtier bolt carrier group etc? I think I remember reading once that one of the reasons AKs can run dirtier ammo is because of the piston.

Yep, not only does the gas, but all the crud makes its way down the gas tube and into the receiver. AK's tend to have lower manufacturing tolerances, reduces accuracy but improves reliability somewhat.

I'm just now playing around with my first AK variant, a Romanian PSL, and it is a breeze to clean compared to an AR.

Its a funny story since no one was hurt. I cant laugh though. I just made my finale payment on a 1000 dollar glass window yesterday. My finger slipped & blew the window into a million pieces.

Yep. Shit happens. You learn from it and move on.

Although fortunately my annoying little life lesson only cost the price of a new pantry door, some spackle, metal putty and paint.
