I'll own mine. It was over. O. V. E. R.

I'm still in shock that we pulled that off. I'll never doubt this group of guys again.

Once again though, it goes far beyond normal the regular "oh noes!".... I'm still trying to process HTF that happened.

-- They were dead at the plate. I would have predicted a WC comeback before what happened yesterday.

-- The worst possible thing happened the previous inning with Rios, who had struck out twice on 6 total pitches. He should have been the final out, but had to lead off again. So, he singles and walks in the same inning.

-- Had I guessed how the Royals could have possible comeback, I would have guessed home runs + craziness... maybe a walk or two, a couple errors, stolen bases... maybe a run or two in both remaining innings. Not so much tripling their number of hits in one inning (or whatever it was) with the merry-go-round of players with 5 straight hits... all with Rios leading off, Butera walking, and some craziness mixed in with the error.

That's cool. But there's a different headline on the paper version in KC.

From Gloom

Great 8th from Davis. Now bring in Franklin Morales for the save!

Still my favorite quote from yesterdays thread. This little bauble of funniness inside a thread of madness. Just money:clap:

Of course C3HIEF3S is always one of the better posters in Royals threads, but still, the timing of that post made me :deevee: in laughter.

Our starting pitching ironically wasn't too bad ...
You have to score more than 2 ****ing runs a game. This is the 3rd game out of 4 that we've only scored 2 runs.

Everyone is swinging for the fences and probably rightly so since we can't seem to score any other way.

Ned went into "I don't give a shit" mode in early September and imo, it cost us. We sat back, feeling all big and fat like we were entitled to something. Now we are going home after round 1 of the playoffs.

What a dipshit. Not because you were discouraged by what seemed to be probable outcome of the game.

It's dipshittery because you took th long awaited chance to blame this game on the "entitlement" of the team, on the "I don't give a shit attitude" of the manager,

Pete, you should get up in the morning and do the exact opposite of whatever the little hamster on the wheel that powers your brain tells you what to do.

Try it.

Captain Hindsight. Next you'll tell us all how you knew we would win. You have a very unhealthy and disturbing obsession with me. Seek help.

Anyone who is bashing participants in the GDT for calling it game over after the Astros teed off on Madson need to get a grip ... Find me one post of optimism about the series after the end of the 7th inning.

Hell, I was as optimistic as anyone and even I had tipped my cap to the Astros after that.

Dude, I committed Harakiri after Correa's shot in the 6th. I bled out and was brought back to life in the 8th inning.:D

And they were giving you flack for it, as if they weren't thinking the same. WE ALL DID!

Right, hindsight, because people haven't been calling out that crap for a month.

It's not just here though, I've talked with a few people who think "it's just not in the cards this year".... well, baseball doesn't give a shit about your inability to accept randomness and the fact that shit doesn't follow the narrative that you've created to string together separate events. And most teams don't sweep their side of the playoff bracket, so a little adversity isn't anything to cry about.

DeezNutz 10-13-2015 08:05 AM

Ned does incredibly stupid ****ing things at incredibly inopportune times; just like he did yesterday by hanging Madson out to ****ing dry.

And then everything works out perfectly. It's truly staggering.

I know of one person who said "it ain't over 'til it's over" and it's an Astros fan who sits next to me at work.

We all said it was over and rightly so. Down 4 with 6 outs to go and you've had a whopping 2 or 3 hits through 7 innings?

I mean this coming back from 4 runs down in the 8th inning of a post season game happens so much that we are the first team in history to do it twice.

Some on here want to play this game of they weren't calling it over or whatever but I think we all know that's BS.

Hootie 10-13-2015 08:10 AM

The Royals are certainly the bizarro Chiefs in the postseason
